Darren Clarke says poor putting was the difference in the 2016 Ryder Cup but losing to the US won't take the shine off having won six of the seven previous tournaments. Team Europe fell short of retaining the Ryder Cup on Sunday, losing 17-11 to a veteran American squad who captured the biennial golfing showdown for the first time since 2008. Europe had dominated the event for the past two decades, winning eight of the last 10, including a 16 1/2 - 11 1/2 victory in 2014 at Gleneagles in Scotland.
