Exercise

My oldest son and I have joined a Tae Kwon Do class. My son is doing great. He has picked up on it quickly. I, on the other hand, am having a bit of trouble. It has been about ten years, or so, since I was involved in any kind of physical exercise. I wish I would have had a camera there, so you could all have a good laugh. There is something humorous about a tall skinny girl struggling to touch her toes. I think I did one and a half push-ups before I collapsed, but I am still sore from it. Have you ever watched a dyslexic try to follow left/right instructions? The assistant instructor showed me one of the basic kicks. She said I was doing good, but it felt more like flailing than kicking to me. I really need to get in shape, but I still have to get through the first few embarrassing weeks.

They don't trust me to exercise enough on my own - I'm getting sent to class. Geez. They're gonna kill me - I know they are!

I don't like classes simply for the fact that I HATE being watched when I exercise. I prefer DVDS or outdoors activities. Even the gym isn't so bad because usually everyone is doing their own thing. You are much braver than I, Tori.

That's really cool for you and your son. I'm sure you'll catch on more quickly as your body becomes more limber and back into shape.

If you want good self-defense, the only way is to learn it yourself....

In a defensive fight, if you don't have the ambition to fight back, you'd better call 911...

I recommend a good kick-boxing class... That will atleast get you in shape! You'd better be ready to streach in places you haven't streached before!
