Guest Falc
San Diego used to be a very conservative city with a large contingent of U.S. military nearby. Now they've got a friggin' openly lesbian "fire chief". If shit like this is going on in San Diego it's gotta be everywhere. America is now run by a totally, thoroughly corrupt power elite. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tough-guy firefighters forced into 'Gay Pride' parade File lawsuit against city after enduring 3 hours of lewd remarks, gestures August 7, 2007 Four firefighters are suing the city of San Diego for being forced by their superiors to attend the annual "Gay Pride" parade where they endured a barrage of sexual taunts and lewd gestures. San Diego's fire chief, Tracy Jarman, is an open lesbian who called the July 21 parade a "fun event" in which "all employees are encouraged to participate." But the firefighters said, unlike previous years, they were ordered into uniform to participate in the parade in their fire truck, despite their repeated protests. The firefighters' legal counsel, the Thomas More Law Center, said the men were "left with the Hobson's choice of either violating their conscience or being disciplined for disobeying a direct order." The firefighters, described as devoted husbands and fathers, said they were subject to the most vulgar kinds of sexual harassment. San Diego Fire Chief Tracy Jarman is an open lesbian "You could not even look at the crowd without getting some type of sexual gesture," one said, adding, "If any crew member were to hang up pictures at the station of what we saw, we would be disciplined." Over the course of three hours, they heard statements such as, "show me your hose," "you can put out my fire," "you're making me hot," "give me mouth-to-mouth," "you look hungry, why don't you have a twinkie (from a man wearing a "Girth and Mirth" t-shirt)," and "blow my hose." When they refused to respond to the crowd, some in the crowd turned hostile and started shouting, "F--- you firemen" and others began "flipping them off." San Diego area attorney, Charles LiMandri, the West Coast director of the Thomas More Law Center, insists the city should have known from past experience "the kind of offensive activities that go on at this event." "This was a clear case of sexual harassment in violation of state and federal law as well as the City's own code of conduct," he said. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=57022
Guest aaronhirshberg@yahoo.com
I hope you all realize that this is why public service employees need to be unionized. So they can exercise the simple right to not march in a parade if they don't want to. Aaron Hirshberg
Guest Rip
San Diego is also one of these "sanctuary cities" that will not arrest illegal Mexicans and just let's them go free. It is also one of the most corrupt cities in the USA. It's one of the lowest paying jobs for cops. That's why it's down 400 policemen from what it needs. But the Mayor and city council members just keep stealing and stealing "Falc" <lrmzmz402@sneakemail.com> wrote in message news:1187463296.371036.137490@g4g2000hsf.googlegroups.com... > > San Diego used to be a very conservative city with a large > contingent of U.S. military nearby. They're trying to make things rough for this woman. Add to that the indignant tone of the writing and the story come across as laughably pathetic. Firemen are public servants and, because of their first aid and crowd control training, very useful to have around at a parade. That a crew and their vehicle should be assigned to participate in a parade seems like a good call. My home town does not have a lot of parades, but our volunteer fire department is there complete with ladder truck at every one of them. We can see where our tax dollars went. The article tells us that a. "San Diego's fire chief, Tracy Jarman, is an open lesbian," b. the firefighters were "left with the Hobson's choice of either violating their conscience or being disciplined for disobeying a direct order," and c. we learn that the firefighters are "devoted husbands and fathers." Now what does Ms Jarman's "open" lesbianism have to do with this case? Is it because it's a Gay Pride parade and she is as fanatical for this day as a drunken and/or Irish fire chief might be about the St Patrick's Day parade? And what does the firefighters' consciences have to do with this case? They get the right of deciding when and where they will deliver their services? Don't forget, this parade is held during their regularly scheduled shift and they are officially on duty. And gays pay taxes. Check out these calendars and tell me whether you think any of these were bought by gays: http://www.amny.com/news/politics/am-ff2007-gallery,0,5031436.photogallery?coll=am-politics-headlines&index=5 or http://qurl.net/1Y9 http://guelph.ca/living.cfm?itemid=70630&smocid=1490 http://www.nyc.gov/html/fdny/html/events/2005calendar.shtml This case makes these guys look like a bunch of whining homophobes. On the one hand they want us to look at them as tough guys, macho men. And they're proud: they've got that Maltese cross badge plastered on their vehicles and all sort of personal attire. Look at me, they say. And some guys did, and said "yoohoo, mister fireman...." They're afraid of gay people? These clowns look like topless dancers who file suit because customers stuffed money into their pants. Sexual harassment, my ass.

A crowd of people made unwelcome lewd remarks and propositions to these firefighters. That is the very definition of sexual harassment > They're trying to make > things rough for this woman. Good. Her position as fire chief is not a platform for her politics. Gay pride parades are political activism, and are no place for compulsory participation by public servants. If she wanted to support the parade, fine. She should have taken the day off work, put on civilian clothes, and marched in the parade herself. > Add to that the indignant tone of the > writing and the story come across as laughably pathetic. > If it had been a bunch of women ordered into the middle of a rowdy crowd to be mocked and harassed somehow I doubt you'd be calling it pathetic. > Firemen are public servants and, because of their first aid and crowd > control training, very useful to have around at a parade. Yes, at a parade. Not in a parade. In fact, by putting them in the parade their usefulness was hampered. They would be far less able to respond quicky and efficiently to an emergency from the middle of the crowd than they would placed on the sidelines in a strategic location. > That a crew > and their vehicle should be assigned to participate in a parade seems > like a good call. My home town does not have a lot of parades, but our > volunteer fire department is there complete with ladder truck at every > one of them. We can see where our tax dollars went. > Yes. In this case, the people of San Diego's tax dollars went towards salaries, maintenance, and fuel for their public servants to show support for a political cause. If this had been a Young Conservatives of America parade, you can bet there would have been no fire engine and crew marching along with them. > The article tells us that > a. It has everything to do with this case. Gay Pride day is not. Maybe 20 years from now it will be, but it isn't right now. Being gay is a sexual orientation. It is not a community event. > And what does the firefighters' consciences have to do with this case? Once again, it has everything to do with this case. If these guys had wanted to participate in supporting gay activism they could do it on their own time, not on the taxpayer's dime. Let the firefighters decide on their own if they want to march in support of gay rights or not. They shouldn't be doing it under orders. > They get the right of deciding when and where they will deliver their > services? That's hyperbole. "Delivering their services" means putting out fires. The guys in the firefighter calendars choose to pose for the pictures. That is completely irrelevant to being ordered to appear in a parade of guys all amped up about their sexuality. Any idiot could tell you that is a recipe for harassment. > Look at me, they say. And > some guys did, and said "yoohoo, mister fireman...." They're afraid of > gay people? Who said they're afraid? They don't want to be harassed. Nobody does. It has nothing to do with fear. > These clowns look like topless dancers who file suit > because customers stuffed money into their pants. Sexual harassment, my > ass. > Topless dancers get paid to dance topless. Firefighters do not get paid to parade around in celebrations of homosexuality. If a topless dancer gets pawed and mocked while she's just walking down the street then she sure does have a right to file suit for harassment. I don't feel sorry for them. In the first place real men wouldn't have allowed a female in the house. Second they could get rid of her any time. Third, they should have walked out rather than be played as fools. That was the only reason for them to be in the parade. Instead they chose to whine and moan and play another girly-game, with lawyers. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =----
