Last week I was at the Second World War memorial in Washington DC and

was this guy there who said he was collecting for food for homeless

veterans. I was suspicious of him because I couldn't see an official

charity badge. Anyway I didn't want to call him a liar so my girlfriend

gave him $2. He gave us a paper he said was an official Armed Forces

charity paper.

When we looked at it we realized what he had actually given us was a

copy of The Onion with the very story you mentioned above on its pages.

Well ... a conman got the better of me and took me for $2. There is a

story to dine out on.
