Your right Chi. Her gender plays a big roll and as sexist as this may sound I'm glad she is pretty to boot. No doubt about it. She was picked because she was a women. But she was also picked for her convictions, her stamina and her knowledge. People are also voting for Obama for the mere fact that he's black. I bet he gets some women's votes because he's a hunk too. There is nothing we can do to eleveate these dogmas. One thing is for sure. It's history in the making.

Back with JFK, the parties learned that good looking people do better on the national stage, even in politics. I can agree that it shouldn't be that way, but it most definitely plays a part.

Having said that, it does look to me (from reading the virginity thread) like you only hate Palin because she is a good looking, white, successful career mom who has kept her family together.

I can honestly say that the reason that I will not be voting for Obama (not sure I am voting for McCain just yet either) has nothing to do with Obama's looks or skin color. Can you say that about Palin?

Get used to TJ putting words in your mouth, and asking for proof, then ignoring it, and not mentioning it again. Also, the obstinate way he hangs on to his belief, even when he knows he is wrong. But the most irritating thing is accusing the "other side", of doing exactly what his side does.

Yes, I think that lady was selected because of her gender. It was a smart move. Over 50% of the electorate are female. It's calculated probably to please this large group
