Fort Minor pushed back

Mike recently posted on the LPUnderground message boards, citing Fort Minor's debut album wil be pushed back until after summer.
"hope are all well...i've been crazy busy with the fort minor stuff. things are moving a little slow, so the album will probably be out after summer. but the good news is that we hope to get music out to the world earlier than planned. anyway, more details coming soon."

Which brings us to the second part of his message. It's unclear whether Mike means the first single from Fort Minor, or new material from Linkin Park. As the man said, stayed tuned for more details.

I dont know if im happy or not :p

I presume he means that Fort Minor will be delayed, but, Linkin Park's new stuff will be out earlier.

Therefor, this is actually great news for Linkin Park fans around the world!

Yeah I'm sure it means LP is working in the studio on some stuff :)

So this is sweet news :D

I don't care which comes first. I'd like both :)

iv heard a whisper dat the LP album is coming out in spring 2006
If they didnt had a legal issue with a WB it would come out in spring 2006, but now with the WB it could come out earlier or later. It depends on what he's talking about

That's pretty cool if he does mean LP music.

Still, they should take as long as they need to make the music. I'd rather wait and get something really decent.

I totally agree. We know what perfectionists they are, so they aren't about to rush out just any old thing, this includes FM. They made us wait 3yrs for Meteora... if it takes 3 before the next one, so be it. At least we'll know we're getting quality. And personally, I'd prefer the quality we've come to expect and know from experience that they put into it over quantity any old day.But also agreed, no one foresaw this thing with WB. It was bound to have repercussions. Maybe with their creative control over virtually every aspect of their careers, they just might end up striking an independant label. If that's the case we'll be waiting a while longer... not that that's a bad thing, at least they'll have exclusive control right? As we all know, WB signed them under duress as it was and jumped on the bandwagon only AFTER everyone else did, so they were never great believers in the band as a unit anyway. I don't blame them for this breakup, it was probably always on the cards behind closed board room doors. Anyway *shrugs* I guess we wait and see what happens with our fingers crossed and just support them with whatever endeavour they choose to undertake first, be it LP or a side project.

eemm.. just a question in between: i thought LP had their own label too? <or am I being dumb?>

About the delay i dont really care whats first and when, ill be glad to wait, my other LP cds arent broken and theres no expiration(sp?) date on them, so i can still listen to those..

I also got a mail, mainly in dutch which said something about there'd only exist one copy of the fort minor cd, which mike would take with him for private listening sessions, but somehow this doesnt sound right anymore, since this news is saying its not finished yet...yeah im confused..

This is good if it means the new LP album is out sooner... as to be honest I would rather have the LP album out quicker and the Rising Tied delayed a bit, than Rising Tied coming out earlier and LP being delayed....
