"The Sangaris will henceforth act as a tactical reserve team of 350 soldiers to the benefit of the 12,500 Blue Helmets," the chief of staff wrote on Twitter. France deployed an intervention force, dubbed "Operation Sangaris", to the Central African Republic in December 2013 after the outbreak of inter-communal violence between Muslim and Christian militias that has killed thousands.
