Frogs together

ok im just going to start writing and we'll see what develops. So i have no idea where I'm going with this. there are going to be some camos and shit. just not sure what's going to come out of this.

Kenji sighed as she woke up to some really hard rock music.

"Turn that shit off!"

Came the shout from down stairs. Kenji rolled her eyes. This was normal morning wake up for her. She took a short cold shower. Her black hair was cut short and spiky. She played some nirvana in her headphones. She grabbed a sunny d from the refridgerator and Biked off to school. Kenji didnt even bother to say good bye to her parents. They had just moved to california from texas. She missed her best friend Joe alot He moved before she did. He was the only one to really be there for her. She made a face at some cheerleaders as they practiced on the front lawn of school. She chained her bike up and walked to the office. A guy was up in the office playing helper. He gave her a smile before the old woman asked,

"You the new kid?"

Kenji was a little taken aback by the bluntness.

"Yeah from Texas."

The old woman thrusted some papers at her then turned to the guy in the black hat.

"Mike will you please escort her to her classes and take your hat off."

The guy named Mike smiled and grabbed his bookbag.

"yes ma'am"

The two walked out and down the hall way. Kenji kept glancing at mike. He seemed to be pretty popular considering how many people came up to him to say hi. Then he showed her a class, Biology 2. Where there was a group of five guys standing outside the door.

"So I'm Mike. Guys this is the new kid she's from Texas."

One of the guy's eyes lit up.

"Really? I'm from there too."

The korean one said. He strongly reminded her of her old best friend. Mike knocked the korean on the head,

"Dude don't scare her. You've already done that with your stupid stuffed animal."

The guy with a fro said. The guy pulled out his frog and held it to his chest.

"Don't diss the froggy."

"Let me guess the name of the frog is Barky Larky?"

Kenji said. The korean looked at her like she was crazy.

"Just a guess. I had a friend back home with a frog named Barky-larky."

She explained. The korean smiled.

"Yeah that's his name, A friend gave him to me a long time ago........I'm Joe Hahn."

"JOE!!"

She shouted and hugged him.

"Kenji!"

Joe returned the squeal. The rest of the guys looked at them like they were crazy.

"Jesus what are the odds you're here?"

"I know tell me about it! I missed you so much!"

"How are things at home?"

"They are gonna be alot better now that I have some place to sneak to at night."

"Ummmm guys can you introduce the rest of us?"

A guy with brownish red hair interupted. Joe and Kenji Grinned sheepishly.

"Guys, this is Kenji Hitoru. She was my best friend back in texas and we did almost everything together before I moved and now she's back here and we can now do the same crazy shit!"

Joe said excitedly.

"and that is Chester, Mike (you already met him), Dave, Brad is the one with the scary fro, and Rob's the one with the drumsticks.''

She shook hands and said hello. Kenji then pulled out a blue stuffed frog from her bookbag that she carried around everywhere for good luck. Joe and Kenji put the hands together and the magnets held the hands together.

"Meeky Leaky missed you joe."

Kenji said. The rest of the guys rolled their eyes. It seemed that they had a long day ahead of them

The lunch bell finally rang. Kenji let out tired yawn as they went outside for lunck.

"So joe what have you been up to lately?"

Joe shrugged his shoulders and handed her a CD with his picture on it.

"Just doing my usuaul DJ stuff. You still doing your BMX stuff?"

Joe asked as he put Barky and Meeky under the tree. with their hands together. Then a couple of football players walked out of the cafeteria. Joe seemed to quiver under there glare. They pushed joe aside and grabbed the two frogs. They laughed as they held them over their head. Kenji jumped up and snatched the frogs from the football player. The jocks stopped their laughing.

"Hey its the new kid. Buzz off before I have to hurt you. You're so freaking ugly too!"

One of them said. Kenji raised an eyebrow and crosed her arms.

"Yeah seriously were you born with that but ugly nose?"

"Yeah your nose is very very ugly."

The other jock agreed with his friend.

"uh-oh."

Joe said under his breath. Kenji took a step towards the football player.

"Is that it?"

She asked her voice a deathly low.

"uhhhh....."

They said as they took a step back from her.

"Ahh that is all, of all the things you could have said. Hell there are a hundereds of things you could have said,

By varying the tone of course. . .like this, Aggressive: 'Jesus, if I had such a nose I'd cut it off!' Friendly: 'When you eat It must piss you off, it always being in your way.You need a plate for is self! 'Descriptive: ''its a rock!. . .a peak!. . .a cape!--A cape did I say? Its a peninsular! Kenji snapped. The guys looked at her strangly.

"That was nice Kenji. Where did you get that from?"

Brad said. She grinned and held up a book called Cyrano de Bergerac.

"Its all right here."

She said as she handed them the book. Brad crossed his legs and started looking through the book. Joe gave her a hug.

"You know those guys are going to try and get you after school."

Chester warned. Kenji shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes.

"They can try to get her. She's good when it comes to fights."

Joe said as he showed some pictures. One of her in the Texas all state martial arts tournament then at the freestyle BMX compitition.

"ooh thats cool."

Rob said as he looked at the pictures.

Kenji streatched as school let out.

"So you gonna come home with me? I know my mom would love to see you again."

Kenji shook her hair and put her black helmit on. She pulled at her collar of her Dave Mira shirt.

"Of course. As long as I get some fiz when we get there."

"Hey You!"

Kenji turned as she unlocked her BMX bike. It was the jocks.

"What do you want ass holes?"

"You're about to get some serious ass kicking."

He said as he put a hand and roughly jerked her. She hopped on the back pegs of her bike and started hopping up and down just out of their reach.

"Come down and fight like a man!"

She did a tail whip with her bike taking out the first guy.

"Who else wants something?"

The rest of the guys ran. Joe gave Kenji a high five.

"That was awesome! too bad the guys couldnt see it."

Joe put on a helmit and jumped on her back pegs. Kenji pedaled off to Joe's house.

"Mom! Guess what?"

"What Joe? I'm in the middle of cooking kimchi!"

"That's what! Kenji moved here and we go to school together now!"

Kenji hugged mrs. Hahn.

"Its good to see you again Kenji, my have you grown up. You want to stay for dinner?"

Kenji smiled as Joe grabbed her hand and took her upstairs. They plopped down on the bed and started playing a new mix on his DJ station.

"That was awesome joe! it reminds me of the song from the eighth grade prom."

Kenji said. Joe held a big goofy grin.

"It's the same song. I'm glad you like it."

"Uhh Joe, do you ever think about that time in eighth grade?"

Kenji asked. Joe sat up strait on his bed and looked into her eyes.

"Of course I do. Theres no way I could ever forget it. Do you think about it?"

"Yeah of course. I just realized that I never got the chance to thank you for being there for me."

Joe's mom called from downstairs.

"Joe your friends are here!"

Kenji and Joe groaned together. they were less then an inch apart. The door flew open and the guys were there.

"Uhh hey guys."

Joe said as the two pulled away. The guys raised their eyebrows.

"Its nothing."

Joe and Kenji said at the same time. They both blushed.

"So do you two think you can help on the English asignment? I have no idea what im doing."

Dave said as he sat down on the floor near joe's bed.

"I don't know how stupid do you have to be to not understand the assignment?"

Joe said as he knocked Dave with his english book.

"I just dont know what to write about......I dont really do fiction."

Dave said as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Let's see what was your latest dream?"

"Uhhh something about a dance in an old castle style setting and meeting the girl of my dreams, Lindsey!"

He sighed as he drooled about his fantasey girl who was a friend of Brad's.

"Well just write down everything you remember. then lets see what you have then I'll beta it."

Dave raised his eyebrow.

"Beta?"

"I'll read through it and correct grammar and give you some ideas on how to make it better. I finished mine in seventh period."

Kenji said. Joe grinned as he grabbed a pencil and a note book. there was silence only as there was scratching of pens and pencils. After an hour, Brad and chester slammed down their pencils and triumphantly.

"Finished."

"Me too, finally."

Rob said, setting his pencil down. The rest of the guys followed in suite.

"So what's yours about?"

Kenji asked Rob.

"About Brad's Fro attacking everyone."

Rob said.

"Mines about a fro and a dog."

Brad said. Mike then spoke up.

"I wrote mine about an artist."

"Mine's about vampires and about werewolves."

Chester said. Everyone looked at joe.

"What's yours about Joe?"

Mike asked. Joe sighed. Kenji nudged him with her elbow.

"Well its about this girl who is locked away in a castle by her father and then her prince comes to save her. but it turns out that her prince ends up being just a frog, she ends up likeing him anyways."

Everyone awwed. They then turned to Kenji.

"Well i don't know....."

She said as she rubbed the back of her neck.

"Oh come on we told you ours."

Mike said.

"Ok I guess. Well its along the same lines as Joe's, but its more like the highschool setting but their social classes are different. The guys a rich guy with well off parents and the girl is from the other side of the tracks. so they fall in love and then move. The end."

Kenji said. Joe grinned.

"You know your not suposed write about nonfiction."

Joe said as he whispered in her ear.

"Don't worry about it. No one will have to know about what happened."

Joe's mom called them down for dinner. Brad and the rest of the guys looked a little uneasy about eating with chopsticks with the exception of Joe, Kenji and Mike. There was a plethera of asian dishes to eat. The one thing she missed when Joe moved, was his mom's cooking.

"It's just so good to see you again Kenji."

Mrs. Hahn said another time. They started eating.

"Hey Kenji, Mom made your favorite Lumpia and katsu!"

Joe exclaimed. Her eyes grew wide as she ate her fill. She knew it would have to hold her over till Lunch, There wasn't anything to eat over at her house.

"so Kenji how are things over at your house?"

Mrs. Hahn asked. Kenji grimaced as she took a swallow of pepsi.

"Same as always. Except my dad is married to some really evil yadoki woman."

Every one but chester, dave, Brad and Rob laughed.

"Umm i hate to ask but what is a Yadoki woman?"

Dave asked as he tried to pick up a shrimp.

"It's japanese for Demon. so in other words, shes an evil scary overcontroling woman am I right?"

Mike explained. Kenji nodded her head.

"So you're japanese like mike?"

Rob asked as he kept trying to use his chopsticks.

"Yeah I'm half japanese."

"I knew that, her first name is the same as my middle name."

Mike said proudly.

"Just remember Kenji, You can always stay here with us if you need to."

Joe's mom said as she gave kenji a hug.

"Well I do need a place to stay, My dad is working on the night shift and I don't know when Yadoki woman is getting home."

"It's alright you can stay here. After diner you and me and the guys can go by your house and pick up some clothes. It'll be like a sleepover. The guys are staying here too."

Joe said. They ate silently for the rest of dinner. Then they waited for about a half hour for Joe's dad to come home. He was just as happy to see Kenji. He too couldn't be more amazed them Mrs. Hahn about her being there. They then got into Brad's truck and rode to Kenji's house where she grabbed a spare duffle bag that still wan't unpacked. They then rode back. It was just like old times for her. They sat around Joe's room playing video games and music. Kenji amazed the guys on how she could play the guitar.

'' Come on Kenji, play us one of your new songs."

Joe said clapping his hands together. She blushed.

"I don't know Joe. I'm still working on a few of them and theres only one thats finished."

"Then play us that one! Please?"

Joe pouted. Kenji groaned, she couldnt resist Joe's pouty face.

"Alright this one's called circles."

Kenji started playing some slow notes on the guitar. everything around them seemed to grow quiet like the creatures and plants as if they were charmed by Orpheus's lyre and words.

As she finished up the last note on her song, The guys clapped. Joe whisteled as Kenji took a bow.

"That was awesome! You want to go to the band room so we could maybe record it?"

Joe asked innocently.

"Oh I don't know it really isn't that good."

Kenji said shyly. Chester elbowed her.

"Come on. If you record it we'll play you a song that we did."

"Alright."

She agreed. They all went upstairs to Joe's attic where they had equipment set up.

Joe just kept running. the stone gothic walls seemed to close in around him as the silent tombs urged him on. faster and faster he ran trying to reach some unknown objevtive. He heard someone cry his name out. His chest was heaving up and down while his breath came out in little white puffs. The freezing cold rock made his bare feet numb as they hit the ground and echoed off the walls. The deeper he went the colder it grew. With his body growing numb with each passing seccond. His name echoed off the walls as he searched. Who ever was calling his name, they needed his help desperatly. the desperation was apparent in the voice. Joe wiped the freezing cold sweat off of his cheek. He saw kenji trapped in a crystaline wall. His heart pounded in his throat. Joe made to grab her hand, but she was pulled under the growing rock.

"Kenji!!!"

Joe shouted as he shot up from his bed. He fumbeled for his glasses. He put them on and the discombobulated world came to focus. He tried to bring his breathing back to normal. He looked around at his friends. All six of his guy friends were sound asleep, sleeping peacfully un-tourmented by dreams.

"Joe?"

He jumped as someone whispered into his ear. Kenji climbed up into the bed with Joe.

"Yeah, you alright Kenji?"

Her hands shook while she pulled the covers up to her chin.

"I had a really bad nightmare."

The tears streamed down her face .Joe hugged her and told her everything would be alright.

"Don't worry I'm here nothing can hurt you."

"Kenji are you sure that you're gonna be alright?"

She hugged the frog that joe had given her along time ago.

"Yeah. It was just so real the memories."

"Kenji you couldnt help it. it wasnt your fault. you couldnt have stopped it if you tried."

Kenji laid her head back on Joe's chest. Joe smiled as he ran his fingers through her hair. He took in a deep wiff of the scent of her hair. It smelled of Mangos and vanilla.

"So are you two like in love or do I have to try and knock you two together?"

Kenji and Joe Jumped as Dave nudged them. He gave a smirk

"Well if it makes you two feel any better, Its school and we have to get up."

They sat in english class and were almost bored to tears.

"Now I'm going to pass out the books and we will start reading William Shakesphears Romeo and Juliet."

Dave raised his hand.

"Mrs. Lawson, we read that in ninth grade."

"I know you did, but you will have to preform it before your parents and the student body."

There was a groan that went through the class.

"I have already picked the parts. so here they are."

She pulled up the overhead screen and there on the chalk board were the names.

"It was a had decesion but here are the characters

Tybalt is going to played by Chester Bennington

Mercutio is going to be played by Joe Hahn

Lord Capulet is going to be played by Rob bourdon
