Germany backs Faldo-designed course for Ryder Cup bid

A successful German bid to host the 2022 Ryder Cup would see the event staged at the Nick Faldo-designed A-Rosa course at Bad Saarow, near Berlin, the organising committee announced on Wednesday. We are delighted to reach agreement with the A-Rosa Resort," said Marco Kaussler, head of the German bid. The resort on the banks of the Scharmuetzelsee in Brandenburg, just to the south-east of Berlin, boasts three 18-hole courses including one designed by English six-time Major winner Faldo. The 2016 tournament is set to be held at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota with Paris in line to welcome the 2018 rendition of the biennial competition.
