Newsday reported that Burress has a concealed-weapon permit from the state of Florida that expired in May 2008. It is unclear if the permit was renewed; such a license can be renewed up to six months beyond the expiration date in accordance with section 790.06(11)(a) of Florida Statutes.
However, the states of New York and New Jersey do not recognize permits from Florida, so Burress could be charged in the incident

No, I'm saying people who carry guns are morons.

But you're right, there are more intentional shootings than accidental ones such as suicides, murders, "emotionally distressed"ex husbands killing their ex wives and children, women shooting their abusive husbands/boyfriends, mailmen opening fire on their managers, other disgruntled employees shooting their co workers, school kids shooting up their schools.. Small kids getting a hold of it and shooting a playmate ..etc..

More of those intentional shootings than anyone ever using a gun to play Clint Eastwood and save the day by gunning down a gunman opening fire in public place or having to thwart off a perp to save their or their families life.. wouldn't you agree?

Combine those with the accidents and the conclusion is.. People who carry guns are dumbasses.

They put a gun to his cheek and then stuck it in his ribs for a few bucks and his cell phone. Yes if I was out walking and saw this I would've shot the son of a *****!

I was addressing that you completely missed Hugo's point. Why do multi-millonaires keep going to dangerous places like, and put themselves in situations for things like this to happen when it isn't necessary Ja-Rule, Snoop Dogg, Adam Jones, Ray Lewis etc... .

You're analogy, like the one about the mall wasn't even relevant to the question. The question wasn't about why they had a gun, it was why go to a dangerous place where you think you might need one, if it isn't necessary.
