Gore Completes Renovations to Tenn. Home

Looks like Gore's house was still under renovation when the republicans

were acting like little bitches and whining back in February.

BWAHAHAHAHA

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Al Gore, who was criticized for high electric

bills at his Tennessee mansion, has completed a host of improvements to

make the home more energy efficient, and a building-industry group has

praised the house as one of the nation's most environmentally friendly.

The former vice president has installed solar panels, a

rainwater-collection system and geothermal heating. He also replaced all

incandescent lights with compact fluorescent or light-emitting diode bulbs.

''Short of tearing it down and staring anew, I don't know how it could

have been rated any higher,'' said Kim Shinn of the U.S. Green Building

Council, which gave the house its second-highest rating for sustainable

design.

Gore's improvements cut the home's summer electrical consumption by 11

percent compared with a year ago, according to utility records reviewed

by The Associated Press. Most Nashville homes used 20 percent to 30

percent more electricity during the same period because of a record heat

wave.

Shinn said Gore's renovations are impressive because his home, which is

more than 80 years old, had to meet the same rigorous standards as new

construction.

Gore has said the criticism was unfair because the 10,000-square-foot

mansion was undergoing extensive remodeling. He said this week that

''global warming denier'' groups were trying to discredit him because

they don't like the attention he has given to climate change.

11 percent? You mean, instead of using 20 times as much utility, he's

using 18 times as much?

THAT'S what you consider a major victory?

Mind you, he still wants mothers and their children to stand in the

rain waiting for a bus while he flies around the world in private

jets.

LONDON (Reuters) - The government said Wednesday it would ban the sale

of samurai swords because the weapons had been used in a number of

serious, high-profile attacks.

The Home Office said the swords would be added to the Offensive

Weapons Order from April next year, meaning they could not be

imported, sold or hired.

However collectors of genuine Japanese swords and those used by

martial arts enthusiasts would be exempt from the ban.

"In the wrong hands, samurai swords are dangerous weapons," Home

Office Minister Vernon Coaker said.

"We recognize it is the cheap, easily available samurai swords which

are being used in crime and not the genuine more expensive samurai

swords which are of interest to collectors and martial arts

enthusiasts."

The Association of Chief Police Officers said the swords were not a

common weapon but they had been used in a number of significant

incidents.

Good. The average attack, with any tool, is usually only one strike. So if that

strike has less chances of being lethal, then we will have fewer fatalities.

I'm not talking politics here, just the mathematics of early-intervention and

harm-reduction.

Okay. Let's exempt antique Uzis, and Uzis owned by, uh, martial technology

enthusiasts...

The fact that he probably pays someone to exercise for him escapes his fans.

Along with the renovations, he probably had a gas turbine power back-up

plant installed down the hill out of earshot. Plus the twin 8000 gallon fuel

tanks.

Once a geek gets hooked on being a major producer of atmospheric CO2, they

tend to go for anything that burns lottsa JP-4.

Not only that, but manufacturing of the materials used carbon derived

energy and the workers converted life giving oxygen into death dealing

carbon dioxide. Al Gore should pay with his life.

Of course, he "could" tead down the house and build one which is a heck of a

lot more energy efficient, and he could well afford to do that, that is "if"

he REALLY believed we should ALL make the necessary sacrifices to avoid

global warming?

| Nobody cares if your double-wide is green, Double-wide Stance.

%%%% LMAO! Typical for a leftard loser. ":o)

a.. December 1997: Gore tells Time's Karen Tumulty that he and Tipper were

the inspiration for Erich Segal's novel 'Love Story.' Erich Segal has

disputed that claim.

| Of course, he "could" tead down the house and build one which is a heck of

a

| lot more energy efficient, and he could well afford to do that, that is

"if"

| he REALLY believed we should ALL make the necessary sacrifices to avoid

| global warming?

%%%% If he really believed in what he preaches he would live in an energy

efficient one bedroom home and drive a compact. Instead he lives in a big

mansion with a heated pool and his driven around in a stretch limo.

March 9, 1999: On CNN's Late Edition, Gore claims: "During my service in the

United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet."

President Clinton, trying to cover for Spotted Al, said that he had done so

much for the internet that he deserved to take credit for inventing it!
