Guest beds

I know each and every person here would LOVE to have me come and visit them...you know, stay in your house, eat your food, not clean up after myself, turn the tv up real loud, invite questionable guests over and use your toothbrush....a typical weekend with Ali! However, I will require that you accomodate me with a decent guestbed. Here's why....

Last night we stayed at my friend's house after driving 10 hours and I got the guest room downstairs. Of course it was wonderful for them to let us stay and I always appreciate that, but the bed was SO hard and ridiculously uncomfortable. I could just as well have slept on the floor. Today my back is paying for it big time!

How do you feel about staying in people's guest rooms? Do you enjoy it or would you rather be sleeping in your own bed?

Do you have a nice guest room with a good, comfy bed available for people who stay with you?

Leave it to you to complain about something you got for free.........lol.

I believe most people get used to not only their bed and how it feels but also their surroundings that provide security and peace that helps in the relaxing and sleeping process. Traveling is under the best of cases not comfortable, in several studies it has been shown that vacations "ADD" stress to your life instead of relieving stress as they are intended to do.

Comfy bed? Some like firm, some like soft, some like medium beds, we are all different and what is comfy to one will not be to another person. I have what I would call good beds in all my rooms, but I like firm beds and I have had a couple people say they are too firm, so is it the bed or is it possible that no bed is really good when it is not the bed your used to?

One thing about uncomfortable beds in guest rooms - you don't have your guests extending their stay.

I prefer my own bed, which is very firm. Shipboard bunks are normally a 3" foam pad on an aluminum frame.

Hey Salt, you retired Navy?

One of my best friends is retired Navy mostly Sub duty, he was an electrical engineer and I believe he said in the Navy they called him a 'snipe'.

I have heard many stories about those bunks ;)

When we were not in the 'field' the Amry had decent bunks but in the field the very lucky had a cot to set their fart sacks on, if you were not lucky you had a little foam pad to put on the ground first, lol. In the Army you learned to sleep pretty much anywhere, I was famous for being able to sleep even going over rough terain in the back of a deuce and a half.

Somebody told me once that they train soldiers about what to do when the ground is wet so they don't get their fart sacks soaking.

In the Navy, when our beds get wet we don't need them anymore.

In the Navy you learned to sleep where ever too TJ. I used to climb up in a ventilation system and crash out. :p

It is normal snaf, every time I get eddo mad at me, Ali will be cross with me and be overly critical of everything I say, it will pass in a couple days but this is what she considers to be her obligatory duty as eddo's friend.

If you look in other threads, you will see it is her going into every thread taking shots at me, even calling me names and trying to hold down all women because I think motorboats are funny and even fun sometimes, like a wet rasperry on a tummy.

But anyway snaf......a ventilation system? Really? I guess the hiding places on a boat can be difficult to come by but that sounds pretty cool.

In the Army it was easier to 'get lost' and we even sometimes helped each other take a goof off day.

Yeah people would wonder why I was walking around in my Peacoat when it was 80 degrees out. It's pretty windy and loud in a ventilation system but nobody could found me.

The only thing this has to do with is the fact that I think you are a misogynistic *******.

And here you are passing the buck again and proclaiming to be the innocent victim of other people's ire. Have you ever, EVER sat down and contemplated the fact that in 100% of the situations where people are "nasty" with you, people are "gangbanging" you, you're getting kicked off yet another site for being an argumentative douchebag or people just plain old get sick and tired of your same old stupid, redundant ****, that the common denominator in each and every one of those scenarios is YOU????????

You can't blame me for your own bad behaviors Ali.

Even snaff got my joke but you had to miss it, because eddo is mad at me that means you have to spam attacks on me too, you have been doing this for years Ali, this is not just me.

So I am not the common factor, because I was not around when you acted this way with other people eddo was angry with.

Fuken Good Grief!!

Granted TJ doesn't know when to let up but you instigate him even more. It becomes a viscous circle. Maybe what we need is a safe word.

Becasue Ali is being overly dramatic and critical out of her friendship to you, that is the real reason for the ********* your always involved with eddo. For some weird reason, if one of you is angry, your all angry and looking for revenge.

It really is like a sewing circle or coven sometimes.

The only place I really like being a guest is at Laura's. She has awesome beds (with feather beds added!), fluffy pillows, dark rooms, and isn't afraid of cranking the a/c to sub-zero.

I have an Aero bed for guests... but no bedding for it, just yet. When I do acquire some bedding I'll do my best to juice it up into a very comfortable place to sleep, so you don't have to complain about it ;)
