handball

anyone play or follow handball here? or just if you've heard of it, cause I doubt many here have.

it's a sport played on a field about the size of a basketball court, and it's similar to football/soccer except you play with your hands.

and right now the world championship is on full tilt in germany. first round is over, second group stage starts this week. and iceland demolished france 32-24 after 18-8 at the half and qualified for the next round everyone's mad celebrating right now lol

We have european handball unit in physed i think it's one of the units that most people actually enjoy... cuz i guess it's easier than basketball or volleyball...

We played it for one week in gym class where I live.

It was one of the best weeks I had in gym class. Not only was that game fun, but I turned out to be a **** good goalie.

I got maybe ten points scored on me in one game...each time.

I do remember the bruises on my palms though. They weren't fun.

I think I never realy played it...but I watch it on TV sometimes...mostly if the German team plays..

Back when I was in high school, a lot of my classmates played on local teams. I'd say it's a pretty popular sport here - not as popular as football, of course, but still pretty widely known and practiced.

I think I was forced to play it in PE once... it was alright, for a change, but it hurt your hands after a while haha.

I love handball! but i had no idea there was actually a championship for it. Too bad i dont have a sports channel.

Volleyball, rocks too, but i cant play it well i find that my chest often gets in the way of doing a dig.

The rules are so simple too! Well, at least when you're playing it. There's only like what, the 3-steps rule?

We played that in gym class twice,we decided to change to Speedball,which is Soccer,Football,Handball,And Basketball combined. Lots of contact in that game,makes it a lot more fun with less strict rules

lol, i think handball is fun because it does not require as much skill and it's very easy to play... you just take the ball by the hand, no dribbling, no volleying, no racquet, nothing like that. You just take the ball, take three steps, and pass or shoot

(Of course you can dribble, but hardly anyone does that... )

well actually handball has all kinds of rules.

no more than 3 steps, except on fastbreaks

can't hold the ball in your hands more than twice

obviously can't step in to the penalty zone, or I dunno quite what you'd call it exactly

btw 2nd group stage of the world championship starts today. I think Our Boys are playin Tunisia

I'm not really a huge fan of it but my fam! My brother plays handball and since the world championship has started everyone is like freakin out!

My fam is for croatia (of course) and a lil bit for germany...
