Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I am eternally jealous of this day as we don't have a day like it to celebrate down here in Australia. We all just stuff ourselves with food over Christmas.

Yes happy Thanksgiving!

I truly hope we all have something to be thankful for. If you don't your glass is diffidently half empty.

I'm having a good Thanksgiving with just my wife and son. My daughter should show up soon. She's waiting for the bird to cook and it's gonna be her loss. I've already eaten half of the crab legs my wife bought me. :p My daughter loves crab as much as I do so she better show up soon!

The birds a cookin and I've had La Fin De Monde and I'm feeling pretty darn festive. This is the smallest Thanksgiving I've had that I can remember. We've always made it a big family thing were my parents, brothers and their kids all show up (usually at one of my brothers house cause his is the biggest) and have a big feast. This year we all did a small deal each ourselves.

Anyways Christmas might be the same, a small individual family thing. But my dads 80th birthday is the 27th of Dec. So we are gonna throw a big shin dig for him.

See his birthday is so close to Christmas he usually gets his birthday thrown in with Christmas.

My dad was my Cub Scout Master, my Boy Scout Master and has always been behind me every step of my life, thick or thin.

He was a volunteer for my son's elementary school since my son was in school.

He was in the Letter Carrier's Union and after he retired he still went to the Union meetings helping Retires prepair for their retirement on his own time.

So this will be the fitting family get together for this year.

We had 22 people today and it was wonderful. A couple of great aunts I haven't seen in years came plus one brought her newly divorced son and his young boy along so it was nice that they weren't alone at Thanksgiving.

Tomorrow night is "Light Up Night" where the local businesses stay open after hours. There is a light up parade, bake sale, free hot chocolate down at the town square, and pictures with Santa Claus in his sleigh. It's very family oriented and folksy. Then everyone heads to the bars for wine tasting and we all get gloriously drunk. :)
