I understand some people might be turned off by screaming in music, so I wanted to see how big this genre is on LPF. All the guys dress in girls cloths, have black hair, and hardcore dance to the unsigned emo/screamo bands that play. This is what is concidered hardcore where I live. but the most hardcore band I've ever really liked was the oldschool AFI. And that actually wasn't that hardcore. but I guess "Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes" is a pretty hardcore album. The only bands I've heard out of your list, Sui, is Atreyu and As I Lay Dying... but I haven't listened to either of them, lmao. djwakka Posted November 21, 2005 Share Posted November 21, 2005 I'm not to big on the hardcore scene. I think most of the hxc artists would sound better if they sang more and screamed less. A good example is that Underoath singer, but I guess that ripping of vocal chords is what makes them better, eh? Occasionally yelling is great and exciting but it gets monotonous if it's the whole damn song. My favorite band besides LP has to be Thrice. o0SugaxNxSpice0o Posted November 22, 2005 Share Posted November 22, 2005 Since I went to the Taste Of Chaos gig, I think I prefer screaming much more when it's live, rather than studio, it just gets you in the mood and it sounds really great with the atmosphere and the music . I use to think it was pointless but I do like some bands that scream now I like Atreyu and As I Lay Dying, but I've never heard of any of the other bands on your list to tell you the truth ^.^ Bullet For My Valentine are quite good if you've heard of them. They're more metal though I think, I don't know how to put bands into genres o_0 Some of the Silverstein stuff has some screaming in it, and I've heard some of Underoath and Alexisonfire which I consider to be very... loud They might be more "Screamo" though.
