Guest hyperion1is
Hi, My name is Daniel and I'm from Romania. I'm new to deployment tehnologies but I have researched on http://technet.microsoft.com and I have choosed High Touch with Standard Image strategy. I have folowed the steps from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd919184(WS.10).aspx I have chosed on step 6: Create a new installation media and then used a DVD to install windows 7 x32 from. It works well until "Windows is starting services" and there it gives me an error. I didn't remembered the exact message but it was something like this: Setup did not succed... Setup will atempt to finish the process after you restart your computer". I hited Enter the pc restarted but the same message. Setup is unable to finish the installation. If you can help is much appreciated. I don't know from where this error could arise. Maybe from drivers? How I said I followed the steps from High Touch with Standard Image. I have installed Windows 7 x32 on a refference computer, installed drivers and apps and then used sysprep Gui with settings: Oobbe and checked Generalize to sysprep the installation. Restarted the pc and used Win PE to capture an image with Imagex. I have copied the content of Windows 7 x 32 installation disc (Retail), replaced the Install.wim, I have placed Autounattend.xml on root folder and followed the tutorial http://blogs.msdn.com/b/cesardelatorre/archive/2009/03/08/how-to-create-a-bootable-dvd-windows-7-or-windows-vista.aspx to make a bootable iso wich I burned to a DVD. The Autounattend.xml I have made it with AIK using my custom install.wim image. How I said. I'm new to this. How I understand sysprep strips drivers unless you specify otherwise. This may be the issues? I didnt added any custom drivers to the image. Thanks. Is the Ultimate edition of windows 7, if that is relevant. Continue reading...
