highschool butterflies

I'm in grade seven and I'm worrying about highschool already. I heard the grade eights talking about highschool and stuff and they will be graduating next week. I am so nervous for some reason even thought I have to wait another year of homework and studying and then comes the big thing. High school... I don't understand. I mean, I had a good year, some problems here and there, I bet I could make it through next year but its just that one thing. High school. I don't think I will be in the same high school as my friends...

What can I do to freak out less?

For me, High School turned out to be a vastly better experience than Middle School, but I suppose it varies from individual to individual, given different factors.

Sure, there's more work in highschool, but I find the curriculum much on the same level, unless of course you choose to take honors or advanced classes.

As for friends, I fell out with 3 out of the 6 I had in middle school, in high school, and I certainly don't regret it. Besides, I've made 5 times as many friends, even if there aren't as close. I think You have a much bigger place to explore yourself in high school, you mature, you find yourself as a person, and you just have a good time.

Don't freak out, you make what you want of it. If you go into it thinking it will be ****, then it will be. Keep an open mind, that's the most important part.

I never really ever liked school that much.. But my freshman year was ******* awesome, despite all the **** going on outside school. I took harder classes and was stressed out all the time.. but I had alot of friends in my classes who were awesome.. Unless the remaing years of high school take a turn for the worse, these will be the best years of my educational life.

Don't worry about the whole friend thing.. I made all my new friends while still in middle school, and most of them I am still friends with today.. The only problem is, if you have a big class, then you might not have classes with your friends, but that didn't stop the relationships I still have with my friends who weren't in any of my classes. Plus you will meet alot of new people anyway.

Basically, don't stress you will soon find out there is nothing to worry about.

Don't freak out. You can't change anything. You are who you are and you're going to highschool. If you like Middle School, then you'll probably find High School much better. If you hate Middle School, then you'll find High School to be a **** of a lot different and better, and you'll find out people who were picks to you are a lot nicer and more mature. I just graduated from High School, and looking back, Middle School blew and High School was better. Besides, you get your drivers license in High School. Also, don't even worry about Middle School. It really doesn't account for jack **** when it comes to College and basically your future. Just don't **** up in High School (academic wise), it will screw you from going to college. Also, don't believe your parents if they tell you you need to do well in Middle School, because you don't. Also, take the hardest classes you feel you can do well in. It really will benefit you in the long run (colleges love Advance Placement and Honor Classes). Try and keep away from classes such as Auto Tech and really any other technical class. They may be fun, but they don't help you out at all.

my eldest daughter goes to high school in september, shes 11 and not worried in the slightest, i on the other hand are scared to death, my little girl is going to have to go to school all on her own.

when i started high school i was terrified, after the first week i knew there was nothing to worry about, infact it was so much better than i thought it would be.

i know its hard not to worry but when you get there you will see its nothing to worry about. its more scary when your own kids start high school.

Don't be scared, highschool will be so fun. I've only just finished grade seven too, but I'm excited, as long as you have some good friends to keep you sane. :D You won't need to be rich and popular to enjoy it unless you're a bigheaded, self pittying, loser with no friends.

Just remember to have fun and not to be too serious about school, otherwise your experience wont be the same. also, enjoy ur last year in middle school but just remember, high school will be MUCH MUCH better :D

ya i'm allowed to go off campus, so food isn't an issue lol.

i'll be a senior in highschool when school starts up again in july. and the past three years were fine. no problems that you should be afraid of. it's highschool.. not military training camp. you'll be fine.

I tell you this right now... I'm going into 11th & it's so much better then middle school. Just act yourself & go in comfortable and confident. Everything will be fine. I was like so freaked out and scared before I went into 9th grade & everything turned out fine. I loved it. A lot of highschools tend to be less strict then middle school. The teachers are nicer & more laid back [most of the time]. It's not the complete **** hole torture that movies make it out to be... It can be fun if you let your gaurd down & just go with it. Dont worry about a thing.

one of my sisters is in seventh grade and she is worried about the same thing. I told her to do her best in the grade she is now and try not to rush things. Just develop good study habits early on and high school will be a breeze. i'm a junior know so i know what your feeling. it was worse for me b/c i moved from Jersey to TN and had to go to a public school for the first time. I was homeschooled since the 2nd grade.

I just left the education system all together, multiply ur feeling by 2 then square it and then u get what I got lol.

Remember everyone is going threw the samething at ur age so just remember that and it should make it more comfortable for u.
