Clinton Adviser Arrested in New Hampshire on DWI Charge
Saturday, January 12, 2008
A senior adviser to Hillary Clinton was arrested in Nashua, N.H., on charges
of aggravated driving while intoxicated the day before the Jan. 8 primary,
FOX News has confirmed.
The Nashua Telegraph originally reported Saturday that adviser Sidney
Blumenthal was pulled over and given a field sobriety test by a Nashua
officer, who allegedly spotted him going 40 miles over the 30-mph speed
limit at about 12:30 a.m. Jan. 7. The officer reportedly smelled alcohol and
arrested Blumenthal following the sobriety test. He refused to take a breath
test.

The officer, Sgt. Mike Masella, said Blumenthal claimed to have just left
Manchester and was on his way to his hotel, even though he was driving in
the opposite direction. Masella told the Telegraph Blumenthal later admitted
he was lost.
The adviser was bailed out of the local jail that morning.
