Holy Nature

found something that i can really write on for now.

ch 1

The first time I met a warrior of the light, my first instinct was oooh shiney. my second instinct was 'I hope this dip **** dosent taint the earth with his foul stench of Holy magic'. a bit harsh I know but he was in the territory of the druids and hunters. A place where the only magic you will find is nature based. I watched his lumbering step as he walked across the grass lawn of the college campus. I leaned heavily on my walking staff. Since I learned my second animal form, I came off with a bad gash in my knee. I shook my head as my animal companions wound their way around my arms and legs. A wolf laid his head on my lap and the hawk landed on my shoulder, watching out around the distance. The hawk let out a screech in a direction behind me. I could hear the soft footsteps coming up behind me, they were the soft footsteps of a good friend of mine and a hunter.

"There's a taint in the air...."

His low voice said as he sat down beside me with a sigh. His arms were filled with tattoos and his hair was hidden under a fedora in a feathered layer.

"I know Brian, I saw it earlier. thought my eyes were going to burn out."

I said with a soft chuckle.

"I'm not talking about the Holy Paladin, there's a stench of arcane and dark magic as well."

Brian said. There was a sound of screeching and four heads turned upwards to the sky as an eagle soared overhead. Brian and I shared a glance before standing up and walking quickly for the wooded area behind the science building.

"Can you keep up Brian Hayner?"

I asked as I shifted into my cat form. I was a graceful tiger with fur white as snow. I sat on my haunches as I watched Brian bend down his bow and string it up.

"Let's run Axyel."

he said with a laugh. out of all my three forms that I have, my Grizley bear form, my wolf form and my white tiger form, I love my tiger form. I fet Brian's eyes on me as we both ran, jumping from rock to rock with ease and jumping over fallen limbs with grace. Both of us froze for the moment as we heard the sound of a deep call of a wolf.

"Looks like High Druid Plainsrunner is calling up urgancy."

Brian said as we continued to run. soon we came upon a clearing filled with more druids and hunters. our leader of our particular area was standing in the middle in his wolf form, Brian and I sat down and listened to what he had to say.

So far, so good. Though I will say straight off the bat, and you may or may not find some offense in this, that initially I thought I was reading something highly reminiscent of old Asterix and Obelisk comics of yore - maybe it was the Druid references, I don't know. But I am a huge fan of the old Celtic/Medieval and Arthurian tales so the world of myth and magic appeals very highly to my sensibilities when done correctly. Only drama I have at the moment is setting. The dialog reads like modern day contemporary speech but the description is not. It's conflicting but not uncomfortably so. Shows great promise. May want to divulge some back story (explanation) in the next chapters so we as the audience can connect with the characters, just a thought. Anyway won't keep ranting, just happy to see you have something up and running again, see if you see this thing through to the end huh? Time (and the creative flow) will tell ;) Interested to see what you do with it. Good work so far. Keep it up :D

I sat paitently on my haunches and waited for the high druid to speak. Beside me, Brian was crouched over, one hand steady on his bow and the other on the ground for balance, focusing hard on the high druid. He was the head of our group and his family had survived being the head for thousands of years. He was the stereotypical Native American type, long grey hair, feathered trinkets woven with leather of animals he had hunted in his prime. When he spoke, his voice carried confidence and you couldn't help but listen.

"We as hunters and druids have survived for thousands of years..... fighting off anything holy or arcane to keep our sanctuary safe for thousands of years. The Earth Mother is in danger if their presence is here. We are the druids and hunters of the technological age, still up holding traditions that have been around for generations."

He looked directly at Brian and myself before continuing.

"We have brought new blood, not nessicarily of our people but ones who show an aptitude for Earth Mothers will. We must preserve this. A war is brewing and we must keep our nature preserved and untainted by holy and arcane abominations. At this time, we will give our youngest their final test."

He motioned for Brian and I to step forward. Brian was decended from easter european families, you could tell by his dusky skin, dark eyes and dark hair that he was of slavic descent. MYself, I am of scandinavian origins. I moved back into my human form and stood with brian in the center of the ring, it was unnerving being watched by elders and our teachers. He presented me with an armband made of a single bear claw, an eagle feather, a wolf fang, and a mountain lion claw.

"You are now an adult in our world. go with Earth Mother and stalk your prey that threatens to taint our world."

I took the armband with pride, I had been waiting for this chance for years. Brian also accepted his with honor. It was our job and our rites of Earth Mother to rid our sanctuary of these threats.

Much better - and ambiance doesn't hurt ;) Am listening to White Zombie's Blood, Milk and Sky (very heavily Ameri-Indian influence) and reading that over I got a better sense of what the story is all about. I really liked the way you described the high druid. Simple but effective. Very emotive. Can see him above all else in my mind straight away. Great job. The premise of ceremony also good. Simple, not overtly and unnecessarily grand to detract from the story. Good. Its funny but I get a sense of the esoteric here too, like we're talking about more than a story, it's a story within a story, it has more than a contemporary social conscience - it's like we're talking other-worldly stuff, alternate realms, no, alternate conscience, yes. But anyway yeah, good so far. Short but sweet. :D

I pulled on a pair of hand stitched leather boots over my loose fitting hide pants. Brian put a gloved hand on my shoulder as I then helped him tighten the comming of ages band around his arm.

"We'll hunt tonight, after work."

I said. All of the leather I was wearing was hand made and stitched by Brian. I skinned the animals we hunted and he made our leather armour out of the skins.

"We have our work cut out for us today....."

Brian said as he pulled me up on my feet. A heard of horses thundered past us from the pasture, circiling around the fence. We worked in the large barn that was part of the college campus, the campus itself was owned by our leaders, mostly in order to eduicate the world in the ways of nature. We exceled in sciences of the earth, natural athletics and understanding of the behaviours and ways of the animals. One of the horses trotted up to me and gently nuzzled me in the back.

"Hey buddy...."

I said as I turned to scratch the chesnut horse on his white striped nose. He pawed at the ground, sniffing out my pockets, looking for his treat. This was my favorite horse in the entire barn. He had a wild streak and was like me in every aspect of personality. His name is Wyilde. I named him myself when Brian and I found him as a foal.

"Brian give me a moment will ya?"

Brian nodded as he turned to continued to walk towards the barn. I vaulted over the fence and hopped on to Wyilde's back. I felt free as I nudged my ankles into the stallions side, sending him running off towards the far end of the pasture. I felt a pair of eyes on me as I turned Wyilde around and had him canter back towards the barn. The scent of nature filled my nose, it was almost overwhelming. I jumped slightly as I saw a pair of brown eyes watching me. Then the faint scent of holy magic hit me. My nose scruntched up as Wyilde came to a stop in front of the pair of brown eyes that were attatched to a young man. He looked away shyly for a moment and I then recognized him as the Paladin I had seen earlier.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you like that. I was hoping that I could find someone to take a look at my and I's horses. We have travled a long way since we heard that the druid's here were the best at mending their wounds."

The young man motioned behind him to a trailer being pulled by a truck.

"I'll have a look. My name is Axyel."

I said as I dismounted from Wyilde.

"I'm Mikey Way and this is my brother Gerard."

The Paladin said as he motioned to the blond haired man standing behind him. I climbed over the fence and was escorted to the trailer.

"What brings two holy warriors such as yourselves out here to druid and hunter territory? Surly can't be because of our medical skills with animals."

I asked. Gerard looked at me darkly while Mikey shyly looked away as I stepped into the trailer. The stench of blood hit my nose and I almost threw up. One of the horses had a long gash down its side and the other had a broken bone. I let out a small sigh and I concentrated my energy into my hands. A small breeze picked up in the trailer and a green glow emited from my left hand. I gently touched the long gash on the first horse. I channeled my energy for almost half a minute before the gash was fully healed up. I then turned to the next horse and repeated the process.

"Your horses will be fine in a few days, they need time to recover their energy."

I said stepping out of the trailer.

"I hate to continue to be a bother, but we were looking for the high druid that is head of your tribe. There are important matters that my friends and I must speak to him about."

Mikey said in the same shy, yet polite manner that he first spoke in. I could feel an urgancy in his voice.

"Alright I'll take him to you."

Ah finally some names I recognize ;) Was wondering who/when they would be.

I have to say what struck me the most about this update was the way you wrote about the horse! You sounded so... free, so alive, THAT really spoke to me, I could see it, feel it, practically live it - that's great writing when you can do that. Awesome right there :D

_________

"The high druid will not take kindly to you being here on our lands. We all have felt your holy magic and it sets us at unrest."

I said in an off handed voice while the soft nickering of the two paladins horses in the trailer.

"The heads of our sects are in unrest as well. We were sent by Champion Delson to seek the help from the druids and hunters."

Mikey said as a few others filed off the bus. My nose was assulted by the smell of Arcane magic, dark blood, trickery, and brute force. it made me even more uneasy when a warrior, mage, rogue, and a priest climbed out of the bus. I frowned and then watched Brian come out of the barn with one of the horses.

"Brian here is the last and youngest hunter in the clan. I am the up and coming druid."

I said with a look of darkness.

"We are the chosen ones of our classes. Mages, paladins, warriors.... we all are interlaced in this problem that we have."

Mikey said in a voice that was a bit apologetic.

"What is wrong? There's more then just the smell of you guys. Its dark magic...darker then the warlocks magic. There's something amiss."

I said as I gave a faint sniff in the air. I just felt a chilling wind on my back as dark clouds started to billow in. I let out a deep breath and blinked at the group of men.

"we were set out to hunt you....to get you off the land the earthmother has given us. I feel that something is amiss and no matter what the high druid says... I know that it would be in our best intrest to help you."

Mikey held out his hand and told me to take what was in it. He opened it up and I took it. I gasped as it fell in my hand. It was a feather, scaley with flecks of green and blue. It was tainted by an ancient magic that the ancestors of my ancestor druids fought and sealed away centuries ago when we fought against the Crusade and their leader Knight Morgraine. He used magic and was twisted into a demon. His followers were lead blindly to try and obliterate druids, hunters, paladins....anyone he deemed unworthy to fight. The lands were almost distroyed and the people wiped out. The Druids of the Cenarion Circle locked him in a way inside a stone amongst the deep mines of the Stonetalon Mountains. We gaurded the place up untill now.

"Morgraine has broken free with the help of the Warlock Farell. He broke the stone and freed him. Now the warlocks are trying to bring death to this land."

Mikey explained.

"If we don't fight it....we will all die."

Gerard said. I glared at him with a deep seated hate that most of my clan carried for most paladins.

"Its true. We will fight along side of you."

Brian said as he extended a hand out to gerard. They both grasped it breifly as if they were trying to crush each others hand.

"Mount up, we have a good days ride to get to where the Circle is meeting."

Brian said. I whisteled for Wyilde who came cantering up behind me.

"The paladins are not to ride their mounts. They are too injured."

I said as I offered mikey a hand once I lept back up on Wyilde's back. Mikey adjusted himself behind me. For a paladin Mikey was different, he wasnt shiney or wearing armour like I was told they would. He wore simple clothes, black jeans, teeshirt, beanie and various wristbands. much becoming of a rockstar then a paladin. I liked him alot better then his brother.

"LEts ride!"

Brian said with a whoop as he charged forward on his horse. I smirked and told mikey to hold on it would be a bumpy ride.

This reads like... I don't know, I can't even categorize it, part folk lore, part dream, part... fantasy realm. It's hard to pinpoint. I see a mix of American Indian culture, medieval folklore, and a touch of contemporary 'mysticism' for want of a better word. Including Delson and Farrel made me smile. I can see this growing into an otherworldly realm, as it well deserves. It's big. Wonder how far you'll take it. So far so good Mel, keen to see where this goes ;)

They were in the tent for hours. Mikey was the only person to come out of the tent while the other talked back and forth about what was going to be done about Morgraine. I gently played with the soft leather of the band on my arm while Brian tended to the horses. Mikey sat down beside me, the smell of holy magic once again assulting my nose. I wrinkeled it a bit, but once again if he stayed out here long enough, the smell of pure nature would over take that holy nonsense.

"We have a week to prepare."

Mikey said as he pulled his large ornate shield and sword off of his back and gently laid it down beside him.

"I am not allowed to fight just yet...."

I said in a sad voice. Mikey looked at me in a questioning manner.

"I may be of age but I have not yet passed the Rites of War."

"Ahh I have heard of the druids and their Rites of Passage ritual.... There's the Rite of Age...."

"Rite of Earth, Rite of Spirit, Rite of Vision, and Rite of War."

I finished for him. For a paladin, he was pretty smart in the ways of the druid.

"And what type of paladin are you? Your brother must be a paladin of revenge."

I asked in curiosity. Mikey cracked a smile and was about to answer before the elders and the rest of Mikey's companions filed out of the tent. Our leader beckoned for me to stand up. I bowed in front of the presence of Rigiddawn Cenarious, the eldest druid in the circle.

"We druids must fight to protect our land...."

He started in his slow but paitent voice.

"Axyel Whitepaw, are you ready to fight? Are you ready to face the Rite of War?"

I put my fist to my chest and bowed before the elder.

"I am ready to face the Rite of War."

"Good. It will begin at sun up."

The other elders nodded in my direction. I sat back down in front of the fire. The rest of Mikey's group joined us. We were then finally introduced.

"The rogue there is Hahn. The Priest is named Benji. The warrior is named Mike. And last but not least the Mage is named Criss."

I nodded at each one in turn, remembering that we were all in this together. I gave a short whistle and a hawk circled down towards me, gently landing on my shoulder.

"This is Kiran. He is my eyes to the wonders of the great sky of Earthmother."

I said as the hawk chirpped. Mikey gave his uneasy smile.

"What are the Rites of war if you don't mind me asking?"

"It is a test of strength, stamina, mind and spirit. I am a warrior druid, I place much upon the ways of feral fighting in my animal forms. This is why I must under go the Rite of War."

I explained. Mikey nodded.

"Now if you will excuse me I must make preperations."

I stood up and walked away from the camp fire. I knew what was coming and I trained my hardest from the day I knew I would be a warrior druid. I walked a good mile or so to the Alter of Earthmother. It was against a vined cliff wall with the spears, staffs, and maces of fallen druids. They were warriors, casters, and healers who honored us in their service to the earth. I bowed before the alter and offered up a prayer to Earthmother and then to the Ancestors of my Ancestors. It was a prayer of strength and of honor.

"Great Earthmother, You made the sky and the earth. Out of your mercy you have allowed us to hunt your creatures and fight for you in times of need. Please grant me the gift of the bear. Strength, courage and spirit to face the trial of war."

A soft green glow eminated from the alter as a spirit stepped forward. I bowed even deeper and cast my eyes downward in the presence of Nantuko, the bear spirit. He was the patron of the warrior druids and the teachings told that if a warrior was pure and ready to fight for the honor and glory of defending Earthmother, he would appear and bestow upon them a gift.

"Be not afraid child, I have watched you grow from a young cub to a great warrior..."

he said in a deep and gravely voice.

"You are blessed with the mark of the bear, and at the end of your Rite tomorrow, you shall find my gift to you in the Den of Tenkotna, the forest gaurdian. Fight for Earthmother and she will honor you above all others in the stars..."

I felt a burning feeling in my upper arm as the spirit faded away. I looked to see a bear paw, burned into my skin, black as charcoal. I smiled as I then made my prayer to the ancestors.

__________________________---

I was sitting on a cliff over the valley. It was just after midnight and I could see the full moon rising over the river trickeling through the forrest. on both sides of the valley, it was surrounded by mountains. a bit beyond the valley, was a desert of jagged mountains and a barren land. The red rocks were covered by the dust and blood of those who had failed the Rites of War. It would be where the Rite would be preformed. I heard the sound of footsteps and turned to see Mikey standing behind me. I gave a small chuckle.

"You walk too hard on your feet."

"Well I'm no rogue or hunter."

Mikey said with a laugh.

"You never told me what kind of paladin you were."

I said as I continued to gaze out over the forest. Mikey sat down beside me, laying his sword and shield down.

"I am a paladin of prot. I am here to protect all those closest to me. Those I love."

I heard the sound of pain in his voice.

"And its because you couldn't protect those you loved long ago right?"

"Yes to an extent."

There was silence with the exception of the howl of the wolves and chirpping of the crickets. It was relaxing and I felt my muscles slacken as I sat there with Mikey. I savored the moment because come dawn, I would either die or I would live. Whatever the Earthmothers will was, I would accept it and there was nothing I could do to change it.

"Worried?"

Mikey asked in a honest tone. I gave a small smile. Not even Brian worried about me in the way that Mikey seemed to, it was a change and it was nice.

"Not really. I may die, may not. The great spirit Nantuko has blessed me and I will uphold the honor and preform the Rite in his name. If I live I will fight along side you and if not...well we'll see about that when we get there."

I said with a laugh.

"You should sleep. You have a big day tomorrow."

I nodded as mikey helped me up and we walked back to the tent. I slept hard and was awoken by the first rays of sunlight. I let out a deep sigh as I stood up and walked out of the tent. The rest of Mikey's companions were sleeping around the last embers of the campfire. I picked up my shirt that was made for me the day I was able to preform the Rite. It consisted of a strip of leather to cover my brest and that was it. On my right arm was my coming of ages band and on the left was the mark of the bear spirit. Brian was the first of the hunters to rise and slowly the rest of the camp started to stir as well. The ever hyperactive rogue was bouncing around the place, trying his hardest to lighten up the situation. The elder came to me and asked if I was ready. I nodded with a slow breath. They then took me into the tent and invited the others into the area where the first part of the Rite was to be preformed. I saw Mikey's eyebrows raise in curiosity as he saw four large hooks and a harness in the tent. I laid face down on the table as they marked and cleaned my skin. I let out a slow breath everytime a hook went in. I was soon hooked into the harness that I would cary to the barren lands. The ropes gently hit against my raw skin where I was bleeding slightly. Mikey looked at me as we started the walk.

"What exactly..."

"The spirit of war, a great eagle will carry the harness for a few miles in the air."

"But the harness is attatched to your skin..."

"Body suspension. My final Rite until I am worthy of becoming an elder."

I said with a semi shaky voice as we reached the cliff wall that dropped at a nintey degree angle to the harshness of a desert.

Oh yeah! haha That made my eyes water when I saw that on TV! haha what a rush!

Mind you as it pertains to rite and ritual I think all reverence is due, it's no joking matter, so putting Mr Angel aside for the moment, let me just say the coming rite and surrounding ritual is coming together nicely. A tad overwhelming in parts for someone like me with absolutely no idea (really) on such rites that my eyes sort of glazed over parts - it does read well, it's fast paced and I adore your ability to do that, always have, as its something you can do that I cant! But what I feel it lacks just a little is heart... let me see a little humanity behind the rigid heart of a warrior, surely there has to be real trepidation on her part? Anyway, just speaking what's on my mind. As always thrilled to read what you write. Just glad to see you back and impassioned. Hope you keep it up. New subject matter too which is a nice treat too. Awesome.

So I can expect more soon then, yeah?

:D

ok now that tard-top has decided to stop being an *** and im off of work... i shall update.

________________________

My mind was void of emotion as the elders beckoned and called for the spirit of war to bless us with his presence. Mikey looked a bit nervous, truth be told, I was as well. but my life as a warrior druid does not have any room for emotional responses. its what was ingrained in my mind at birth from the moment I started training as a druid. There was a large shadow over head as a gigantic eagle descended before me. Already the heat of the desert made my skin start to sweat, i had to keep my mind about me that way i would not die.

"Are you ready my child?"

The spirit asked as it turned its huge head towards me. I nodded as I knelt down and offered up the large harness from my shoulders. The spirit took it and started to rise slowly. I could feel the excruciating pain as skin seperated from muscle. I held back a yelp of pain as my feet slowly started to come off of the ground. I felt the blood trickle down my back, staining my shirt. I breathed slowly as I dared to open up my tightly shut eyes. The red clay ground mixed with the warm tones of the mountains flew around me. All of the pain seemed to subside as I found myself feeling free as I flew through the air. as I flew through the air, the eagle spirit gave a cry and we were soon joined by other raptors. Hawks, Falcons, and eagles flew around us, circeling as if they were our honor guard. I realized that we hadn't been in the air for long as we touched back down on the ground. I was cut from the harness by brian. his eyes were red and he looked as if he was shaking badley.

"Promise me you wont do that again?"

He said pulling me into a tight hug. Relief washed over me like a wave and I let out a shaky breath. it felt like I had been holding it in forever. blood was dripping from my back as brian let me go and I was approached by Mikey.

"That was amazing but stupid..."

He said as he passed a glowing yellow hand over my back, healing the wounds from where the hooks were.

"There are going to be scars but no more bleeding."

He said with a soft smile. I casted my eyes downward in a bashful manner. I had never had the attention of a male before like this...not even from other druids and hunters. of all of the classes there were it had to be one of them. I mean dont get me wrong... mikey is a great guy so far, but he's a holy paladin. I'm a nature druid. he's a protector and I'm an in your face charge for danger bear. it wouldnt work out to begin with.

Do I sense some sexual tension in the air? ;) I know the word 'cute' doesn't fit this genre of writing but I'll say it anyway, cause that was three quarters an aww moment haha

I chuckle at the 'that was amazing but stupid' quip, couldn't have put it better myself. Cringeworthy. But good stuff! Glad to see you got to update again, yay! As always look forward to more.

Thanks.

Mikey cleaned the blood from my back and helped brian finish patcing me up. Mikey gave me a small smile as the three of us headed out of the tent.

"I must go to the den."

I said. Brian nodded as he handed me the leather tunic to place gently over my raw and damp skin.

"We will acompany you."

Brian said with a dark look at the paladin. One of the hunter elders then called Brian out. He spoke with the elder for a brief moment before he poked his head back into the tent.

"Paladin go with her. if one hair is so much as displaced.... may the gods help you."

Brian said with utter disdain in his voice. I frowned at him before I gave a whistle. the moment we stepped out of the tent, we were greeted by two horses. Wyilde and a white stallion. I mounted up and waited for the paladin. Some how, he looked more like a paladin to me each time I looked at him. Mikey was wearing simple linen pants and boots with no shirt and his sword and shield on his back. I nudged my horse to head deeper into the woods where the bear tracks led.

"Wait here."

I said as a mother bear and her cubs came out, eying the paladin uneasily. I slowly slipped from my human shape into a bear. I was greeted by the cubs in a playful manner, i rolled on my back as the cubs jumpped on my belly. The mother dissapeared back into the cave and returned dragging out a large battle hammer. I stood up in bear form and shifted back into human. I took the hammer in my hands and gave it a little toss and twirl. It was inscribed in ancient runes to say THE OATHKEEPER. This was a mace of legend that has only appeared twice before in the entire history of the druids. I headed back to where the paladin was after thanking the bears.

"You know....I promise and give you my word as a Paladin of the Blood Knights....to protect you, this land, and your family."

Mikey said to me as I mounted up on my horse again. part of me smiled and the other part was thinking, what is this guy getting in to? Mikey turned his horse closer to mine as he then planted a kiss on my cheek

Mikey was pulled away from me. Brian came back and greeted some of the hunters by name, their animal companions uneasy, sensing a taint in the air. I could smell it myself and the restlessness amongst the other druids told me they could feel it as well. In healers alone there must have been close to two hundered of them, the warrior druids were tripple their numbers and even more caster druids. And to top it off the hunters numbers matched the numbers of the druids. Hours passed before the heads of the nations, clan leaders, and Mikey. I looked up as a withered hand was placed on my shoulder. It was the High elder of my tribe. He smiled at me before helping me to my feet.

"My child.... we need an ambassador to travel with these paladins......to join up with the blood knights......we need to know how many of them will join us."

Mikey smiled as he put a hand on my shoulder as well.

"we will meet with them in the city of Kaleoran."

Mikey said with a laugh as our horses were brought. we were acompanied by a group of ten hunters and druids.

"its a good few days ride, but we will return by the time that the warlocks have managed to amass to our numbers. there will be just as many paladins and warriors and mages and priests to fight along side of us. The Mages and Priests will meet with us here."

Mikey explained in a low voice. I nodded in understanding. The high druid smiled before placing both hands on my shoulders.

"My child, its time for you to accept our tribe's most ancient artifact."

He said leading me into a smaller hut on the outskirts of the camp. I stood in front of the legendary War Armour of the Beast. I was handed a helmit made of bear fur and a hard helmit. its ears were perked up and the eye holes sharp as ever. The shoulder pads made of tough turtle shells and spikes, the chest made of hardened leather of the wolf with a paw print and two crecent moons on it. Gauntlets and boots made of the softest rabit fur and toughest hide. I let out a small gasp.

"Are you sure? Its a big responsibility."

"Your teacher wanted you to have it since he had no children to pass it to. After all his ancestors were the ones who forged it and stitched it. Yes its ancient but still very strong. And even so, the spirts gave you the War Hammer called Oathkeeper. Only he who weilds Oathkeeper is allowed to don the armour of the beast."

He placed the helmit on my head and I looked up through the eye holes. he nodded as brian came in to help me put the armour on.

"So this seems to be a very big day for you huh?"

"Yeah i guess.... i just hope that I don't screw it up. There's much more at stake then just pride, brian.... but our whole world and way of life."

I said as I took the helmit off and pulled my gloves on. I put my hammer in its case on my back and then stood up. Brian smiled as he brushed a strand of hair away from my face.

"You look so...beautiful..."

Brian said. His brown eyes soft and worried. He pulled me into a hug.

"You'll do fine. I'd put my life in your hands any day."

I grabbed my horse by the reins and led it over towards the group of Mikey's friends. He looked wonderful dressed up in his armour. The chain and plate shining in the sun as he held his helmit under his arm. A gentle breeze wafted through the camp as Mikey waved his hands and moved our small group of troops moved out. I could hear the sound of hoofs beating against the earth. I felt Wyilde beneath me moving uneasily amongst the battle dressed charger horses of the the paladin and the riding wolves of the warriors. My hawk was perched on my shoulders, observing the surroundings of our group. I swallowed as a group of Bears ran along side of our group, deer and other animals watching our progression through the forrest. I swallowed as a fox ran ahead, looking back as if it was expecting us to follow it. I smiled.

"what's it want?"

Mikey asked.

"Its the High Elders spirit guide. he's keeping us safe out of the woods."

I explained. After riding for the day, we were barely out of the woods. I squinted my eyes as the harsh sun was setting over the grassey plains. I squinted and saw in the distance a large city that looked huge even at a six hour ride away. It was an ornate city that I had never seen before.

"We're almost there. we'll make camp here."

Mikey said as we dismounted from our horses. The dark clad rogue gave a s******.

"Why are we stopping? How are we gonna get food?"

"Why do you think we have a druid dumbass?"

Mikey's brother snapped at him. I glared at gerard.

"Well if you want food I can get some, however Gerard won't be eating with us."

I growled at him. I changed into my tiger/lepord form before bounding off to find something that would be edible.

Good - but too short. I can see this developing like a novella. Actually it's visual enough to be a fantasy movie of sorts. But would have to be wary that nothing got lost in translation. So far reads well. Like I said, descriptive, fast paced, but shame for me, too short! Well still happy to read more anyways. Great! When can I have more? :)
