Guest SheBlewHimDidYouBlowHim
Could you christian idiots please tell your ALL-KNOWING GOD TO MAKE UP HIS GODDAMN MIND? ARE WE SUPPOSED TO HONOR OUR FATHER AND MOTHER OR ARE WE SUPPOSED TO HATE THEM? WHICH FUCKING WAY IS IT? Hmmm, amazing that I don't ever remember seeing this particular bible passage ever mentioned in church or sunday school. (SHOCK AND SURPRISE) Luke 14:26 (New International Version) 26"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters-yes, even his own life-he cannot be my disciple. If I had a dollar for every time I heard a fundy atheist bring this up, I'd make Donald Trump look like a skid row bum... ....wel,not really... I was just doing what Jesus was doing, using hyperbole (hy-PER-bo-lee),overstating matters to make a point. It was a very common rhetorical technique in ancient times, and still quite common today. Try thinking of "hate" as "show no favor to". As in "I show no favor to any sinner." And I've heard it mentioned in church more than once. Please consider why your conscience continues to have you post in alt.bible and other religious newsgroups. Your heart is trying to tell you something. If you honestly didn't believe, and didn't care to believe, you wouldn't spend so much time in here trying to convince yourself that you don't. Praise the Lord! Guest SheBlewHimDidYouBlowHim
again, please consider, why you christian loons worship a MASS-MURDERING, CHILD-KILLING COLD-HEARTED BASTARD sick, sadistic fuck called the christian god here, let's compare body counts in the bible shall we? Shall we compare body counts in the bible? Let's see, the loving, caring christian god character drowned the whole world, killed the firstborn of Egypt as well as its army after a devastating series of plagues, ordered and personally participated in the slaughter of countless individuals during a genocidal rampage of his chosen people, fathered a son specifically to be killed, and personally tortured a poor slob named Job on a bet, and don't forget about demanding that Abraham MURDER his only son. The dreaded satan character did... Uhh... I don't know. I suppose he might have killed someone at some point, but I'm not sure. The satan character is a sweetheart compared to the evil monster character called the christian god.

Uhh... I don't know. I suppose he might > have killed someone at some point, but I'm not sure. Satan's the one that killed Job's relatives. Satan's the one that introduced death and sin into the world. Satan's the one that fathered all death in the world. Do you realize you have selective memory on this topic? And you think the body count so far is bad wait until the rapture. You haven't seen anything yet. Jesus will come in judgment, Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Few there be that find it. Unfortunately, most people will face the judgment of Jesus Christ, the wrath of God. We're talking billions of people. And you'll get to meet Him face to face. Then you can see if you're still brave enough to spew all this acidic hate towards him that you do to all His believers. But at that point it will be too late. Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. And his wrath upon you for your insane amount of blasphemy will be heavy indeed. But it's not too late yet. Repent, realize you are a sinner, call on Jesus Christ to save you, acknowledging that he paid the punishment for your sin, and he will still take you in. Does that sound like hate to you? Good luck. I'm sure the most you'll bother responding with is repeated hate, of which I need to remind myself: Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. You have everything you need to know. You will be without excuse on your day of judgment. I suggest you do some soul searching, friend. Good luck! cybacaT
SBHDYBH Our time on Earth is but a blink of an eye compared with eternity. For people to have sinned and died on Earth in the Old Testament, is nothing in comparison to the free gift God granted to everyone - eternal life. As for the Bible, which bits to read, which bits to interpret. Well, you need to read the whole thing. Try and experiment - pick up a book that you haven't read before. Open up a page, and read a couple of sentences. Now - would you go an start praising or insulting the book based on what you've read? Would you claim to know about it? Not if you're a reasonable person. You need to read the whole thing, and THEN you'll get how it fits together. You'll realise that it isn't contradictory at all - despite the myth some people propogate. In fact it's beautifully written, and a rich tapestry of history, teaching and wisdom. I too am pleased that God is active in your life, enough to drive you back here again and again, until hopefully the penny drops...
