how can I re-enable scheduled scans after MSE removed JS/BlacoleRef.R

Hello. On 2/9/2012, MSE found that the trojan JS/BlacoleRef.R had been downloaded to my machine and recomended that it be removed. I allowed MSE to remove the file, but since then, MSE has not performed the daily scheduled scan as it had before. This persists even though I repeated the steps in MSE to schedule a scan, shut down and restarted the machine, and MSE and MalwareBytes say that there are no threats on my machine.

How do I re-enable scheduled scans and how can I be sure that I'm not still infected?

Thanks.
