how do I restore the internet explorer icon on my task bar?

I accidently deleted the internet explorer icon on my task bar. I tried to restore my system to an earlier time and then the icon appeared. But, when I clicked on it, a box popped up saying internet explorer was renamed, moved or deleted. Now, I can't
figure out how to get that icon back and an icon that works. Please help me figure out how to restore or add a internet explorer icon that works like I had before. Thank you.
