Hunger-striking ex-Gitmo inmate leaves Uruguay hospital

A former Guantanamo inmate resettled in Uruguay left hospital Saturday after being admitted amid a long hunger strike. Jihad Diyab, a 45-year-old Syrian, had been taken to Hospital de Clinicas in Montevideo, a government intermediary with former inmates from the US military prison told AFP. It was the second time his week that Diyab was hospitalized after launching a hunger strike about three weeks ago to press his demand to be reunited with his family in Turkey.
