Guest HAD_32 Posted January 24, 2012 Share Posted January 24, 2012 I apparently was hit by a virus yesterday. A WARNING - popped up by Malware Protection Center that had a shield in red and green. It noted that I had 24 infected files and listed such things as :Virus.Bat.Gray.705, Trojan-Spy.Win32.Win Patch, Bat.Looper; Trojan-PSW.Win32.Hooker.. The required action was to delete. I just closed it and ran a scan that found only 2 files: Trojan.Win32/Simdu.r and Trojan.Win64/Simdu.R The Microsoft Security Essentials only did a quarantine. I wasn't allowed to remove them although this was the recommended action listed. When I opened the computer later, the same warning with shield popped up and said I now had 34 infected files. Microsoft Security Essentials listed a different two files and removed them. I did a scan and it said my computer was safed. This morning when I turned on, I had another warning with 36 infected files and told to remove them. I keep closing this screen, because it doesn't look like it belongs to Microsoft.
