I have downloaded the fixit tool, I have done trouble shoot to no avail, my important updates keep f

I have an hp with windows7.  It will install some updates but the service pack one for windows 7 64it will not install.  It downloads and fails.  I have tried everything I know how to do. I have downloaded the fix it tool a dozen times, I have downloaded

the trouble shoot tool and still it is not letting me have the important update.  Can someone walk me through this?
