Guest WhoIsThatGuy
Hi everyone, I was recently fiddling around with my ZoneAlarm settings when I noticed I had about 3-4 pages worth of Windows Service Pack Setup listed there. This seemed just a tad off, so I went to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download to take a look and saw that there were about 146 copies of Windows XP3 installers listed in there, taking up about 1.5GB of space. So here's what happened during the install; the first time around, it seemed to be taking too long so I cancelled it. It went through the uninstall and everything normally, and all seemed fine. The second time around, the power went out halfway through. When I restarted my PC, it said the install wasn't completed and it had to uninstall or something. I clicked all the right buttons, but when it got near completing, my PC froze, so I manually powered it down. When I powered it back up, everything seemed fine, and the third install went smoothly. This probably happened about a week ago, and I only just noticed the hundreds of extra copies about 10mins ago. My question is what should I do? If I uninstall SP3, will it remove all the copies? I stupidly disabled restore points, so I think that isn't an option. Please help, thanks! Continue reading...
