i only want a wired connection no wireless access to my computer

My computer has been compromised by someone with few morals and no common courtesy. i want to eliminate the possibility of wireless access .I intend to use the DSL only . My Computer has a wireless adapter from the factory . can i uninstall it and maintain Internet connectivity? the DSL seems to work fine. Please Advise. I need to discourage their kind from irresponsible damage, before someone else has the same misfortune. Thank You for your efforts, B.T.T.
