this is just an idea to get money for this site so it can keep running.

i kno it probly wont work or its not a good idea, but mabe companys and stuff would pay money to this site if they could put ads on it, like banners and stuff. and then u could keep this site running from the money it brings in, if it brings in any.. and way it was just a thought i had.. :rolleyes: :)

Ok, well for one I have ads on the site, people just don't pay attention to them. I need people to visit my spounsors. Nobody is going to advertise on this site if all my members ignore them.

I mean, are they the sort of ads where you donate money...?

Or do you help LPF just by clicking them?

Usually companies give ads to ad-services [google has one] that in turn get the people to put the ads on the their sites.

Then, for each time one of 'your' ads gets clicked, the company pays the ad-service a certain amount of money. Then you get a small percent of this. Thus, more clicks, more money the ad service gets and the more money you get.

Although completely legitimate, the ad-services arent doing much of anything, but they are making the bulk of the money.

Hopefully that makes sense and helps...

And its not a stupid question by the way... ;)

Yeah a lot of webmasters / webmistresses with more popular sites use them on their site to earn a little money to contribute towards hosting or whatever =) A couple clicks should earn something at least lol. Let the pennies pile up ;)

Is there a way of popping up a new window when you click on the banners. Because I find it really annoying how I can't keep posting while just clicking on the banners.

Wouldn't this involve you having to like give out credit card details or something...?

I really don't like doing that.
