IE9 not installed on Win7 Ultimate

I tried to install the new IE9 on a Windows7 Ultimate installed notebook. Win7 is full patched with SP1 and all available patches. OS is german.

Downloaded installation file IE9-Windows7-x86-deu.exe started the installation and finished till the end. After restart of the explorer i get a popup telling me that IE9 is not installed. (Die Installation von Internet Explorer wurde nicht abgeschlossen)

It puts me an link on the desktop pointing to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=200540

I checked all there and installed the updates mentioned but retry the installation gives the same result.

Any idea about the error mentioned in there ?

Windows Module Installer is running.

I tried also to download the installation again but get the same result.
