Guest KHemmelman
You know how you click the drop down arrow in the URL address bar and it shows the recently visited sites? Under IE8, the recent sites that I had typed in would show up in the top of the list and there would be about 10 of them in the list. I just installed IE9 and now this list is half that and it only shows 5 sites! I find this rather frustrating and I would like to expand the size of that list back to 10. (or at least larger than 5) I know there is a "History" section also in this drop down list and you can 'expand' that section, but this list is just NOT functional for me. It is full of lower level URL addresses and even has entries in it that are a folder location on my hard drive. I want the drop down list to "just" show the sites that I have 'typed' in. I find I visit many of the same sites and had all their addresses typed in and it was their 'main' URL address. I could easily go to those sites by just using the drop down list. Now with IE9, that list is way too short and full of items that just are not functional. So I have a couple of questions: [ ]Is there a setting in IE9 or the registry that I can change to get the "most recent sites visited that I typed in" back to showing more than just 5 sites in the initial list of the address drop down list, like the way IE8 worked? [ ]Can you turn off, or get rid of the "History" section in the drop down list? (This section just doesn't contain entries that I ever click on and is a waste of space!) [ ]Is there a way to tell the "History" section to NOT show hard drive locations? (I fail to see what useful purpose it is to me to have drive location show up in my history when I am using a program that browses the "internet" and all I'm interested in are "internet" sites. I'll use Windows Explorer to browse my hard drive.) Continue reading...
