In this photo by Gemunu Amarasinghe, novice Buddhist monks collect alms from passengers on a ferry in Yangon, Myanmar. Close to 89 percent of Myanmar's population are believed to be Theravada Buddhists. Giving alms is a daily ritual that provides food for the monks and is a way for a Buddhist believer to make merit.
