Fireworks factories in India typically pay workers $5 a day or more, while the cheapest firecrackers cost about $2 for a packet of 10 and the bigger, noisier ones can sell for up to $10. Firecrackers will be in huge demand during the festival of lights, Diwali, which starts Nov. 11 and is the country's biggest festival.
