After upgrading my Windows 7 x64 SP1 to IE 9, it started closing immediately after it was opened. It occurs on both the safe-mode and regular versions. The only version that will launch is x64.

So far, I have done the following:

  • [ ]Reinstalled
[ ]Install both with Windows Update & Downloaded version
[ ]Downloading from different location than the default
[ ]Reset internet settings to defaults
[ ]Ran sfc /scannow with no reported errors

    [ ]Toggled "Use software rendering"
[ ]Tried running in Windows Safe-Mode
    [ ]Run as admin
[ ]Tried running under different user
    [ ]Installed ALL Windows Updates

The 1st result I got when I googled the issue was one from Microsoft, and it stated to:

Run Internet Explorer troubleshooters

  1. [ ]Close all programs.
[ ]Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
[ ]Click Find and Fix Problems under System and Security.
[ ]Click View All on the task pane on the left.
    [ ]Click Internet Explorer Performance.
[ ]Click Next in the dialogue box.
[ ]The troubleshooter will run and fix all identified issues automatically. Click Close.

However, there isn't anything listed there for IE fixes. I even checked other machines on my domain and they too do not have anything listed for IE. I checked the group policy and local policy to see if checking online for troubleshooting was disabled.
