Recently MSE has found two versions of Alureon on my PC and removed them. I don't install anything when asked or unknown and don't open attachments unless I'm absolutely certain it's what it says it is, Have a HW Firewall, SW Firewall in Win 7 turned on, running MSE and Defender obviously. Oh and I'm running 64 bit version, which until recently has been one more buffer to potential infection. I am very carefull about what I do yet I get these reports.
The two reported were TrojanOS/Alureon.H and Trojan:Win32/Alureon.FK. Did MSE just warn me that the payload was downloaded from an infected site? Or was I actually infected and the Trojan removed? I can see the former, but I'm trying to figure out how the later could have possibley happened if it did.
Thanks,
Mike
