Israel has resumed its military provocations against the Germany navy
which is patrolling the Lebanese coast as part of the UN mission, the
Rheinischen Post newspaper said in a report on Saturday.

In the first incident, several Israeli fighter jets approached the
German frigate 'Niedersachsen' which is monitoring the Lebanese
shorelines within the UNIFIL framework.

Nine days earlier the same German frigate was "ready for combat" after
an Israeli speed boat approached the German naval vessel without
identifying itself.

In another incident, an Israel pilotless plane overflew a Swedish
speed boat which was also based in the area as part of UN operations.

Germany's military commando center, based in the eastern city of
Potsdam, has confirmed that all three incidents took actually place
and have been reported to the UN.

Israel's air force began its military provocations against German
naval vessels last October when Israeli F-16 fighter jets fired shots
at a German naval ship.

Israeli fighter planes had also repeatedly locked on their radar on
German naval helicopters flying over Lebanese territorial waters.

Locking in radar on an enemy aircraft is generally considered by
military experts as the last step before an actual attack.

German politicians have been startled by Israel's aggressive show of
military force towards the German navy, whose primary role is to
intercept arms smuggling.

Germany has eight warships in the Mediterranean Sea with 1,000 naval
soldiers on board.

Now this is rich: We've got some anonymous poster quoting from the
Islamic Republic News Agency about the German military being threatened
by Jews.

Usenet just gets better and better.

Bring on autotranslation!

It is usual on these occasions to make a great vapouring
about honour and conscience: but as those words are now
generally acknowledged to be utterly destitute of meaning,
I have too much respect for your understanding to say any
thing about them.
