Score Baja Sur 500 – Confirmada para Enero 2014.
La Secretaría de Turismo de Baja California Sur, en conjunto con la empresa Score International, realizó la presentación formal a los ayuntamientos de Loreto, Comondú, La Paz y Los Cabos, de la propuesta para la realización de la primera edición de la carrera automovilística Off Road Tecate- Score Baja Sur 500, a realizarse a mediados de enero del próximo año, cubriendo la ruta Loreto – Los Cabos; informó Rubén Reachi Lugo, titular de esa dependencia estatal.

Rubén Reachi, precisó que en esta reunión, destacó la presencia de Venustiano Pérez Sánchez, Presidente Municipal de Comondú y la asistencia de Alfredo Reyes Cervantes; Secretario Técnico del Ayuntamiento de La Paz, en representación de la Presidenta Municipal Esthela Ponce Beltrán; de Jorge Gutierrez Carrillo; en representación del alcalde de Loreto Jorge Alberto Avilés Pérez y en representación de Antonio Agúndez Montaño, Presidente Municipal de Los Cabos, asistió Miguel Palacios Romero; director del deporte municipal.

Por parte de Score International estuvo presente Oscar Ramos Jassen, representante legal de la empresa; quien realizó la exposición de los motivos recalcando el gran interés que existe por parte del nuevo Presidente de la compañía Roger Norman, por realizar esta carrera, con miras a que se pueda hacer cada año y que sea puntuable para su campeonato e incluida en el serial anual de Score International, lo que garantizaría la participación de los más destacados corredores del automovilismo off road del mundo.

El representante de Score, enfatizó en que las carreras que organiza esa empresa tienen una cobertura en promedio de 140 medios de comunicación nacionales e internacionales entre televisoras, revistas especializadas , radiodifusoras y medios digitales, que garantizan una amplia difusión de los atractivos turísticos del Estado; adicionalmente a partir de esta nueva administración Score, tiene su propio programa de televisión que difunde cada carrera en 32 países, en cinco idiomas, a través de ESPN International, Fox Sports Network y Speed visión.
El Secretario estatal de Turismo, manifestó su beneplácito por esta iniciativa de Score International, toda vez que es la empresa con mayor prestigio y tradición en la organización de estas carreras, que a través de los años le han dado gran proyección internacional a Baja California Sur, han creado una gran afición en su ciudadanía y además generan una importante derrama económica, principalmente en beneficio de su sector turístico y el del comercio en sus diversas ramas.

Ruben Reachi, reconoció el interés mostrado por el presidente municipal de Comondú y los acuerdos alcanzados con los representantes municipales para coadyuvar en la logística para la organización de la carrera, enfatizando en los temas de seguridad y destacando que el ayuntamiento de La Paz en los próximos días está por definir su participación, manifestando su confianza en que así será, toda vez que este evento de talla internacional contribuirá favorablemente en la promoción turística de la capital del Estado.

Por ultimo; el Secretario de Turismo destacó que con la Tecate- Score Baja Sur 500, se tendría una carrera internacional del serial de Score International, etamente sudcaliforniana; además dio a conocer que en esta misma reunión se avanzó en aspectos generales para definir la realización de la Baja 1000 en su edición 2014, a la que el Gobierno del Estado estará brindando todo su apoyo por los amplios beneficios que genera
