Guest Sports News Posted February 11, 2015 Share Posted February 11, 2015 [attach=full]17424[/attach]The Chicago-based Jackie Robinson West Little League Baseball team was stripped of the U.S. title on Wednesday for violating a rule that prohibits the use of players who live outside the team's boundaries, the organization said. Darold Butler, the team's manager, has been suspended from Little League activity because of the violation, the organization said. The Jackie Robinson team, the first all-African-American team to win the championship, met with adjoining Little League districts in Illinois to secure players and build what, in effect, is an All-Star team, Little League Baseball said. Illinois District 4 Administrator Michael Kelly has been removed from his position, the organization said, adding that the United States championship has been awarded to Mountain Ridge Little League from Las Vegas.
