CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A girl died Sunday after she fell into an icy pond
in Concord Township.
Family members said Kaitlyn Gross, 11, wandered away from a farmhouse in the
5600 block of Sorg Road, and relatives discovered her in the water around
2:15 p.m. and pulled her out.
She had apparently fallen through a patch of ice into the water, family
members said.
Relatives performed emergency resuscitation before an ambulance arrived, and
the girl was taken to Highland District Hospital.
Kaitlyn was then flown by helicopter to University Hospital, where she was
pronounced dead at 5:15 p.m.
