Just how stupid can the "religious right" and "evangelicals" be??

The answer to the question is simple: They can be, and are,
exceedingly stupid. No one has ever successfully accused an
"evangelical" of being the sharpest knife in the drawer.

"Evangelicals" and "fundamentalists" and all other stripes of
holyrollers and biblethumpers are gullible, slack-jawed near-retards
who will fall for anything. That's why they flock to the "Creation
Museum" where they are told that the Earth is 6,000 years old and that
Adam and Steve rode around on dinosaurs -- and kept a few as pets.

Well, I digress.

The "religious right" tells us that Ronnie Raygun and George Bush
(both Bush I and II) and "men of god," "true christian leaders."

What a lot of crap.

Let's look at some facts.

At least twice -- in his two inaugural addresses, Saint Ronnie
announced that halting abortion was the single most important moral
imperative of his administration(s). Then he went back to sleep. In
spite of the fact that Saint Ronnie made a few pronouncements about
how abortion needed to be made illegal, HE DID NOT INTRODUCE ONE
SINGLE PIECE OF LEGISLATION TO OUTLAW ABORTION; HE DID NOT DIRECT THE
JUSTICE DEPT TO BRING A SINGLE SUIT CHALLENGING ROE V. WADE. In fact,
the ONLY time he talked about abortion was in his inaugural addresses,
on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, and in an occasional appearance
before a gaggle of holyrollers.

Yet, the "religious right" looks upon Ronnie as one who should be
sitting on the right hand of god because he, Saint Ronnie, put those
abortionists in their places.

And yet another proof of the stupidity of the "evangelicals" who
persist in their mythical beliefs in spite of evidence to the contrary
right in front of their faces: Church attendance.

Ronnie Raygun, George Bush I, and George Bush II NEVER ATTEND
CHURCH.
-- Raygun appeared in DC area churches occasionally on ceremonial
occasions.
-- Ditto for Bush I.
-- Bush II has never darkened the door of a church since he moved to
DC, does not attend church back on his "ranch," and never attended
church before he was elected.

Now, you may ask, what the hell does church attendance have to do with
anything? Nothing -- except -- I find it strange that the holyrollers
and biblethumpers fall all over each other to kiss the ass of Reagan
and Bush (I and II), but, they overlook the obvious fact that not one
of these three men makes any outward expression of religious faith.
Meanwhile, the Clintons are long-time Methodists. While they were in
the White House, they were active members of Foundry United Methodist
Church in DC and continue to attend there frequently.

Of course, as I stated at the outset -- evangelicals, fundamentalists,
holyrollers, and biblethumpers are basically ignorant, unquestioning
people. Their leaders tell them that Reagan and Bush are saints and
they believe it -- and don't try to tell them different.

Stupid. Wide-eyed stupid.

You left out something: Scalia, Roberts, Alito, etc.

Right now, the Supreme Court is just ONE justice away from overturning
Roe v. Wade. Thanks to these Supreme Court appointments by Republican
presidents.

And that is what the Christian evangelicals care about.
