Lewis close to history at Made in Denmark

Farsø (Denmark) (AFP) - Tom Lewis looked on course to complete the first 59 in European Tour history but hit three late bogeys to finish with a joint-leading 62 at the Made in Denmark open on Thursday. The Englishman had been on target for a dream 59 finish, but he eventually ended up with a shared first round lead with Thomas Pieters and Joakim Lagergren, at nine-under-par. The Made in Denmark open is the final event in the 2016 Ryder Cup qualification race and tournament co-leader Pieters made a huge statement of intent after racing into an early lead alongside Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke.
