Limewire

I am thinking of downloading limewire. Does anyone here have it, if so, is it good, does it come with any viruses, does it slow your computer down or effect your computer in any other way? (im a bit paranoid because ive downloaded stuff before and my p.c. messed up )

Any help would be appreciated.

1 - No its one of the few that doesnt come with spyware, viruses or trojans

2 - Yes it slows down your computer considerably whilst running

3 - It can cause your pc to become unstable if u run too many things at once

4 - NEVER download anything without a virus scanner, also your stealing stuff so dont ***** for getting viruses as your kinda getting what you deserve (assuming thats what you do)

The best part about it is it checks for errors when its downloaded so u dont have to fear that distorting **** as it will delete it if its no good.

yup yup. and you have loads of choices from who to download from, so if there are loads of ppl on one, you can use a different one

I have it and I recomend it...

If you download to much stuff it will start restarting limewire over and over again (I turn it off once ive downloaded). All is needed is a reinstall or remove all items from your archive so no-one can share with you.

Also to stop sluggish computer, turn off automatic start up. So it wont start when ur comp turns on

Yup, Limewire is the best download program that I've used and I have been using it for over a year now =] I've never had any problems with viruses *Not to my knowledge anyway o_0*

Yep. I use LimWire whenever I want an individual song, but I prefer torrents for anything else.

Bittorrent beats Limewire hands down. Try Azureus or BitComet.

Torrents + µTorrent for big files. Ares for MP3s. It's all you need.

I downloaded uTorrent, and then I tried a few torrents.. and it went slower than dialup. (and I was on a high speed Wi-Fi connection).

Anyone got some tips? What are some good torrent sites?

Yeah, thats true ont he other hand. But if you wanna download like a few songs of soe bands, then its lime wire And torrents sometimes lose track, but are certainly better for downloading whole albums and games, and movies.
