Farrakhan had a point. The hurricane wasn't racist, obviously, but not enough was done for poor people. They were left behind because many of them ahd no cars and no way to get out. Also, higher ground had mostly white people because houses on higher ground was more expensive because they knew if there was a flood then those houses would be safe. That's why most black people ended up with damaged property from the flood, their houses were on lower ground. Also, many black people tried to evacuate but were not allowed into neighboring towns.
