Baltimore Orioles third baseman Manny Machado was at the center of a bench-clearing brawl, but insisted he didn't mean to throw a bat in a game against Oakland. Machado had swung and missed at a pitch from Athletics hurler Fernando Abad, and said the bat just slipped out of his hands and hurtled down the third base line.
