A few dollars for a 1/8 piece of mild steel from home depot and I have a skid plate

Im thinking about doing the same for my GTT MX link. Did you use flat steel or AL and how did you attach it?

flat steel that I bent with a hammer on my work bench, drilled and tapped the link for a couple of 1/4-28 flat head allen screws. with some blue locktite
