tizz
With the family leave act you have to apply for extended leave as it was explained to me. Do we have her email so we could send this thread to her? tizz said it right. His job should've known about his situation and compensated for it. She had brain cancer. It didn't happen over night. If he doesn't have a union he should sue. Although I hate our sue happy society. But it'll teach these employers they can't jerk people around. I would've been pissed! TheJenn88
Seems kind of dumb to risk your job just so you can watch someone croak. I sincerely hope you die alone. Not only alone, but painfully, and also regretting every bitter and apathetic moment of your life. Whatever person you have in your life that loves you - I feel sorry for them. They are, without a doubt, too good for you. When you're on your deathbed, I hope they're out shopping, or drinking wine and celebrating, and going to work during the day. This woman needed to be cared for. She was dying. Her last few days - and this man loved her enough to want to spend the rest of his life with her. He can't just say fuck all to that compassion and partnership for a JOB. Money, you fucking idiot, is NOT everything. Fuck your capitalist ass and everything associated with it. Sounds like someone who can't keep someone close to them. Oh, that is why you had a child..children can't leave you. You are sad. Quarky1.0
This is pathetic, any employer who cares so little for there employee is a fucking moron and deserves to loose what they have. A death in the family is both heart wrenching and heart breaking, and its immoral to threaten or fire someone who wants/needs to be with a dying loved one. If you have never lost someone close you, don't know what the hell you are talking about and if you have, and say its fine for the employer to be so callus as to fire an employee who wishes to be with a dying loved one, have a good long hard look in the mirror, because you are what is wrong with human and the world would be a better place if you were flushed at birth. Death of a loved on, is the worse thing anyone can go through and I hope to hell the guy sews the hell out of his ex-employer.

There is no need for government to be involved. An employee can quit at will. Employers should have the same right to fire at will.
