Metro IE 10 picks wrong compatibility?

If I run desktop IE and navigate to a website I created, it seems to display it in an IE6 like fashion. I can, however, go to the F12 developer tools, change the compatibility mode to IE10 and document mode to standard and it displays as expected.
However, in Metro IE10, I don't have this ability. How can I tell IE10 what mode to choose from my HTML?
