snafu
As queer as he was he did change the music industry dramatically. I liked him when he was black. I guess this shows that it dosn't matter how rich you are, even with a doctor on hand when its your time it's time. Since Michael Jackson was mostly plastic, they are going to melt him down, make Legos out of him so children can play with him for a change.

RoyalOrleans
Geezass Keerist!!! A new contender emerges for the title "Lord of the idiots". Ohh.... child. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke for a little over 8 minutes during that march on Washington in August of 1963. Al Sharpton was about 9 years old then, and the combined effect of every word that Sharpton has uttered from that date can't add up to King's eight minutes. timesjoke
MLK was about getting along, tearing down barriers, patching fences, humans seeing each other as one, not as one color or another. All this done to help both his people and America as for the betterment of all. Al is all about division, strife, sensationalism, games and political expediency all done to further his own glory and increase his bank account. MLK cared about people, Al only cares about himself. snafu
The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone. hugo
The fact is if James Earl Ray had not killed him King would be a race pimp today. 1 Quote The power to do good is also the power to do harm. - Milton Friedman "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents." - James Madison
timesjoke
The fact is if James Earl Ray had not killed him King would be a race pimp today. I don't know hugo, the thing that seems to be different with MLK and Al is Al loves to start crap then leave the community all riled up. The Jena 6 comes to mind as a great example. Maybe MLK would have changed to that, but at the time of his death, he did not show that quality so I will not assume he would have done those things. Al is simply getting paid to divide us, MLK was trying to bring us together.
RoyalOrleans
The fact is if James Earl Ray had not killed him King would be a race pimp today. That's not out of the realm of possibilities, Hugo. RoyalOrleans
Contrary to popular opinion, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are mortal enemies. In the coming months, years; we will see Sharpton and Jackson vying for the spotlight until Michael Jackson's estate is settled and properly distibuted. Both are race pimps, however they are both in competition for the same "I'm the leader of all blacks now" title.
