Michael Sam, the first openly gay player drafted by an NFL team, is still chasing his pro football dream. Sam was the biggest name among some 100 participants in the NFL's veteran combine, where league hopefuls who haven't managed to stay hooked up to a club can showcase their talents. The 25-year-old defensive end made history last May when he was taken in the seventh round of the NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He played for the Rams in four pre-season games, making 11 tackles and three quarterback sacks, and was among the last players they released before trimming to the final NFL roster limits.
