I've already reviewed these two answers -- Help with Office 2010 Beta installation Error and MS Office 2010 Public Beta - Setup encountered an error, but still have no solution.
Repro -- i have no apps running, i turned of my virus program, yet i still get this error message when attempting to install/upgrade from office 2007 to office 2010:
Microsoft Office Professional 2010 encountered an error during setup. Error 1935. An error occurred during the Installation of assembly component {89EDD3A9-944B-3257-8484-D6EB6AOODDF5}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.
i get a similar error message when trying to install other Microsoft apps, like expression web 3 or MS Project 2010. All fail. But only Microsoft installations -- any other brand of any other program installs fine.
oh, and it's a windows 7 environment.
Suggestions?
