Mike's BIG Update on Album's Release And Songs

Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda stopped by the Grammy Style studio recently and he gave us an update on the new album and talked about the studio. The Style Studio took place right before the Grammys and Kate Nobelius helped the stars get ready for the big night.

Shinoda also said that the band is being really particular with their forthcoming album, and he described the latest progress and when they'll finish.

 


"Um, before summer. We are... We had narrowed it down to about sixteen to eighteen songs, and we are in the mixing stage right now. We're still trying to tighten a few things up, musically, and we're mixing some songs."

so it DEFINITELY means album is NOT coming in summer !! :rolleyes: (maybe Rob lied in LPU chat :p )

Yeah nice it isn't coming out IN summer, but he said before summer so i hope that doesn't mean june 1st or something, end april/begin may sounds nice to me:)

i honestly think people should posting threads like this, cause all we re gonna get is more angst about the release date and why it keeps getting delayed ya di ya da, we should just have one thread dedicated to this rather than 50 individual ones, i think it would be best if we didnt know the date, but rather we' surprised when it comes out, and if we didnt keep getting "apparently" new release dates, we wouldnt be so ****** off everytime it got delayed.

well frankly speaking ... this thread hasnt DELAYED the release date but actually did the opposite .. and also gave the actual number of tracks which will be on album because people were complaining that they dont want 11-12 tracks on the album ... so i fink this has positive sign and give calmness to lp fans rather than other normal threads which ****** one off about delaying the release date !!

i think we will never get it. it will always be 'oo, we're tightening things up' or 'just a bit more to be done'. it will pushed back, month after month untill we are all DEAD!! lol

i really hope they release it before teh huge tour and ya i love updates on teh album.. but not the lies :\

Yeah that would be nice, that means end april/begin may, so i really think that it will be around there, because the single will be released in march, then the album will be out 1 month later, before they start playing live on the festivals

i hope before pinkpop, cause than i can sing along with new songs..but it's also cool when they play new songs before the new album:-|, lol i simply cant wait to hear something new
